I can't recall saying that. Still, orange? Get a black one. And then change
the exhausts so that they're anything but "gold".

    Seriously, why not get a K3/4 1000? It's a lot roomier than the 600/750.

Maybe it was Kenyon - you're all interchangeble.
I've had a black bike; never had an orange one. Though, given Lloyd
Cooper are selling them new at a decent discount, on 0% finance, I may
well buy a new one, meaning it's black, blue or "metallic raw
    titanium".
the gold matches the forks, though - looks especially OK on the new
    grey one.

The Guzzi's like that but with added noise.

"This sounds like a job for a 70's Moto Guzzi!"

You're surely forgetting the orange R65?

it's not really orange, though. I've just been out fiddling with it
actually - it's more sort of "cobweb" coloured at the moment.

For something that's nearly 30 years old, an ex-plod bike with well over
100K miles [1] on the clock and ridden quite hard it spends very little
    time 'under the knife'.

[1] Probably in excess of 150,000 miles.

Tempting. So where would one get one of these "antiques" from and
would you be willing to answer stupid mechanical questions every now
    and then?

Where to get one I'm not sure - ebay I suppose as the Guzzis there always
seem to go for far less than I'd expect.

No problem on answering questions - they're very simple machines. I
recently replaced the barrels, heads and pistons with high compression
items and it took no more than four hours to do the whole job.

The clutch is about the biggest service job and can take a day to change
but needs nothing more than basic tools.

I'd get an S3 - either an original 70s 750 or the 'retro' 1000 from the
80s. Le Mans are pretty cheap about £2000 for a reasonable one.

    Oooh, pretty:

A.Lee scribbled on the back of a napkin:
I'd avoid that. It's too expensive for what it is (a bastardised Strada
with bits missing and other wrong bits on it) and you'll spend long and
unhappy hours trying to track down those bits that you really want to
    put on.

As a project for 500-600 quid I'd have it in a flash but for a grand
matey is having a fucking giraffe.

There are other problems, in relation to the discussion in hand:

    It's not a Moto Guzzi
    It's only a 350
    It's purple
    It's not a Moto Guzzi

I wouldn't have thought so, as the 600/750/1000 all share the same
seat/tail unit painted in differing colours. The earlier ones are
definitely no roomier as they even share the same fuel tank too.

Perhaps I just imagined it when I test rode a 750 and 1000 back to back
then. Obviously I defer to your superior knowledge of these things.

cant speak for the older models according to the suzuki bloke at Ally
Pally but the current 750 & thou had the same frame. makes me think
the body work might be the same too.
