Well, was up in court yesterday for last years speeding offence...76 in a 40
    on the westway.

Not too bad really. 28 day suspension plus £150 in costs and fine...could
have been loads worse. The court was running late, and there were hundreds
of people to get through. My legal advisor (my sister, bless her!) reckons
that I got of fairly lightly coz I didnt waffle, didnt bullshit and basicly
stood up and said "sorry, wont be doing it again m'lud" .

Not too bad. Now I just have to *remember* that Im not allowed to drive,
and dont jump in the car to nip out for a pint of milk...

on another point, anyon know how badly this is going to effect my insurance
    next time round?...

At least I still dont have any points on my licence......and I can drink
whenever I go out for the next month.. every cloud and all that....

    Not badly, is my guess.

They don't like bans, but they go by the court code, so if it's a
simple SP30 or something it shouldn't really matter.[/QUOTE]

Plus it's worth bearing in mind that if you get a ban you don't
actually get any points on your licence...

Yup... that was the advice that I got from my sis... I could have pulled out
all sorts of reasons not to get a ban (I have to attend hospital every week,
job suspension without pay etc...) but then chances are that Id have got
loads of points and a larger fine... plus theyve heard it all before, and
may not necesarily take any notice anyway... at least the ban is over and
done with, rather than carting around 9 points for the next three years and
end up driving like a nun!

My insurance went up about 1300 quid after my ban (just sp30s and from a
zx6r to a Fireblade). It's come down to something reasonable a year later.

  8. Road works on the bloody M1 and I slowed down. Didn't even know they

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Cane"
Last time I had a miniban, I just locked up the vehicles and dug out the
pushbike for a month. I was a damned sight fitter for it.
