The watch looked ghastly, I know because Shaw Taylor showed me the
    footage.

You haven't found the right bike yet then.

When you do you will sell all the others because they are pointless.

Then you will be freed to ride the One True Motorcycle all day every day
in all weathers and watch it's steady decline with affection rather than
    alarm.

Each little scratch, tiny dent and scuff mark it collects a totem of
where you, together, have been and what adventures you have had.

Every mile recorded a testament to your loyalty for each other.

    Yours still to discover.

  5. A 600SL Pantah in 1981 was £2850. Excellent value for money when you
consider that a GPZ1100 was only about 2 grand!

Even better is buying a presumably fucked 2 year old GPZ1100B2 for 500
quid, then finding that the deep knocking noise from the bottom end is
only the starter clutch bolts have worked loose. Cost to repair, 10 quid
by your local Kawasaki dealer while he's assessing the costs of
rebuilding the complete bottom end :)

    I think you're right.

Unfortunately there are two problems with this:

    1. It's not the right colour.

    2. I don't have 1800 quid to spend on bikes at the moment.

    Shame really.

  11. ISTR they were £899 in 1978.[/QUOTE]

Some of the finance deals were outrageous in them days.

  12. I went out looking for a nice CX500 and signed up for a Drifter instead.

Could have been a crankshaft, cylinder barrel, head, fairing, in fact
everything on a TZ is a consumable

  20. "dump"? As in, "throw away"?
