    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of importing bikes from overseas into the
    UK?
I would like to know what I need to organise with regards to import duty,
    VAT, insurance and freight costs.

    Thanks

  2. get registration docs and insurance/ tax
freight costs will set on top of this and import duty if you bring it in
    from outside eu

one issue you will have is warranties no registered dealer will touch it in
the uk and resale value will be almost nothing
insurance costs will be %30 higher

parts availability could be a problem as well especially if you import from
    outside the eu

  8. Oh, fer fuxxake. Another twat who thinks that because you can save 5000
quid on a BMW by doing a personal import, you can do the same with
    bikes.

Look, type "parallel import motorcycle" into google and see for
    yourself.

Or buy a copy of Motorcycle News and look at the adverts.

And post at the bottom, thanks.

  12. If your buying new this will be provided by the manufacturer. If you are
going through a dealer you must let him know you need one and tell him
to f*ck off if he wants a load of money for it.

You can get one in England but you will be charged for it.
You buy an international warranty with the vehicle.
Some one take you to the cleaners did they?
No difference with a reputable company for a vehicle that is available
in the UK. A premium for others.
If you are importing a vehicle that is not sold in the UK you will have
a problem unless you are very 'savy' with what fits and what doesn't.
Who deals in non imported brands what crosses over from one make to
    another.HTH.
