  3. I didn't have much choice. I couldn't work out who was on it at the time
in question. There was a camera van hiding in the cemetery under the
trees. Bit of a bastard really. Court didn't appear to be interested as
long as they got a conviction.

  4. Easy if you can see the rider. All you could see was the numberplate and
tire. I did ask for more photos. The one who was riding at the time
probably knows it was him though. Or isn't about any more as it was last
    July.

But is it safe at 150mph on public roads?

  6. presented the following explanation :
Public liability insurance has nothing what so ever to do with vehicle
    insurance.

  7. Too late now but:
Could you not prove with independent witnesses that you were somewhere
else. Hence it could not be your bike but some wicked person with a
false plate the same as yours.

I good friend of mine had to do this when a blue transit van, identical
to his, including reg plate, filled up and skipped paying in Birmingham
while at the same time he was in the local pub celebrating his birthday
in Kent with 6 other people, with his van parked outside.

The police attitude was 'We don't care what you say, your nicked!' Then
all these letters started to arrive with people stating what 'reality'
was and not their 'fantasy' view of things.

    It worked for him.

  8. I expect it depends on the conditions.

    Best wishes all,
    Dave.

  9. I was out on the bike on the Sunday in question. I know where it was as
it's not that far from where I live. I mentioned the number plate thing to
a magistrate I know, He said, that unless you could prove you where else
where, you where stuck. I did manage to get the conviction down though.
You get 30% off if you plead guilty. I got the minimum.

  11. It depends.
He may have been travelling at or close to that speed on race tracks for
nearly 10 years, and driving a road vehicle for 4.

I wouldn't have thought so, but on a race track with a 20 year old GP2
    champion driving, it prolly is.

If a front door doing 150mph isn't dangerous, I don't know what is.

  16. I tried to resist the temptation, but failed. Sorry!

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the "Milky Way".

    The Galaxy Song.

This driver wasn't Nico Rosberg. There are very few drivers that have
abilies anywhere near as good as a GP2 champion. Very few have
    training at speeds over 60mph.

I would argue that there are probably a lot of drivers with skills far
exceeding that of most racing drivers. They just simply haven't had
to opportunity to, or have no inclination to, become a racing driver.
