Is he one of Grahams friends, or didn't he let you watch in the car

    Big Brother.

Personally, I'm thinking of voting for Kilroy's bunch, for a chuckle.

Or, failing that, the ones with the most entertaining name. Last time
(general) it was one "Sister X" of the "Nunoftheabove" party.

    Wasted votes r us!

    What does this do?

I've got the bluetooth dongle (£16 d-link) to dial up through my mobile.
Can't get Float to work on bluetooth but it does on IR.
    http://fma.sourceforge.net/

Which took a bit of random pissing about to work. It does this obex
    thing as well.
There was a squatters 'estate agent' in Brighton [1] which famously made
hysterical Daily Mail headlines as one the items on the communal "Things
to Do" board, in amongst the buy tea, milk etc. was "Smash Capitalism"

[1] Run by the now Lord and Govt Whip, Bassam. MP for Brighton Pavilion.

I've been somewhat pissed off by the number of parties capmpaining in both
the EU and local elections on completely irrelevent points. The fuckers
we're electing - have elected, by now - have a significant impact on our
lives. First and foremost in our minds should be whether the candidate
will do a decent job of it. I particularly detest seeing UKIP candidates
    standing in local govt elections.

  13. I don't actually detest any candidates standing for anything.

I might get upset with the people who vote for some of them, mind.

    Well... yes and no.

UKIP candidates have NO INTEREST in serving the needs of the community.
They have a single policy which, whatever you may feel about it, has
little or no bearing on local government. They will be like the BNP
councilors discussed some weeks ago, who either don't turn up or make
stupid decisions through ignorance and disinterest.

Anyone (almost) has the right to stand for election, but I have nothing
better than contempt for those who do it with no intention of providing
    good service[1] to their electorate.

[1] I'll grant an exception to the various comedy parties, who don't have
either hope or expectation of being elected.

  15. Yes, I agree here - but then you can only blame the idiots who vote for
    them.

Why? Why is it wrong to despise the sort of people who would abuse the
democratic process in this way. They are not intending to do the job that
    they get elected for.

You have been known to have harsh-words for people who respond to bike
adverts with no real intention of buying. How much worse are these
people, who are applying for a job which they will take - and get income
for, in the case of the European Parliament - with no desire or intent to
do the job? I hate them!

I don't have a lot of regard for the people who vote for them, either,
although it is easy to understand when everybody but the Labour party is
playing the same game. And the only reason the Labour party aren't this
time is because they're in power and they're the ones who stand to lose
out on the various issues (anti-EU; anti-Gulf War).

True enough. I don't much like one-issue politics of this sort, and using
an important, (if not very) democratic process to show displeasure with
the government strikes me as stupid when you have to live with the
    consequences for years to come.

    See, now this is bollox.

When that particular bunch of nastiness crawled out of the slime it was
soon realised that it was getting criticism from the likes of me about
doing what was mentioned up there so they invented themselves a set of
policies for stuff not to do with Euro elections and thus gave
themselves all the credibility they needed for their sycophantic mates
in the media to fawn all over them and grant them the publicity they
seek without which they would wither and die. Although to be fair from
what I have seen most of them have already.
