The bike is fixed. Fully repaired.

But I'm too scared to ride it.

    How sad is that.

Anyone want to buy a Yamaha SR 250 ?

I couldn't even ride it back from the repairer, they have to deliver it.

    Charmayne is of the opinion:
I was a bit like that after each of my binnings -- took a while to get back
into it. In each of my cases, though, I couldn't ride because my bike was
f**ked, but I was OK, which probably makes some difference.

Maybe sit on it for a bit making vroom vroom noises, remembering how much
fun it was. Then fire it up and take it for a bit of a ride around the
block. Eventually the desire for a fang will overcome the fear, and then
    you're off.

  3. Hi Charmayne,

From my experience as a slow learner it's normal to be scared and
apprehensive after you have had a prang, especially if you get hurt. If
you liked riding before the accident it would be a shame to give up without
trying again. Don't give up straight away, take it easy, find a nice
quiet place to have a go. If your confidence is really shot, maybe take
another riding course. If all else fails (Hypnotism, Psychotherapy, etc)
there is no shame in driving a 'car' just don't expect us to acknowledge you
    ;-)

In my first year of obtaining my licence I totalled my Yamaha Zeal 250 and
thankfully I was wearing all of the right protective gear so I wasn't hurt
too badly, but I could not wait to get back on a bike, so as soon as the
Insurance paid up I got my self a Yamaha XJR1200 and I never looked back.
So all I can say to you is put the accident down to experience and get back
on, just do what Matt Palmer suggested and you will be fine.

  7. The bike doesn't have a pink slip,but I'm sure a different coloured one
    could be altered...

It's pretty common after an accident to fear that you're going to have another
one very shortly thereafter because you're reminded how easily it can happen.
What's the worst that can happen? You could die. Apparently you don't exist,
so you don't have to worry about that.

Your imaginary self really is pathetic.

How about this to ride instead. I believe it can be optioned up with the
    necessary trainer wheels.

  12. Hey Charmayne, if you are too unsure about riding the bike
just keep it for a while and sit on it a few times, thinking how
great it was to ride it, but be aware that accidents happen very
easily, then after a couple of months decide whether you
really want to continue with it. If not, don't sell it, you might
change your mind in six months time.

Forget all the smarties here. They are small boys overcome
with wishful thinking. We could get together sometime when
your husband is not home, and you could come for a ride on
the back of my bike honey. You could hold onto me real
tightly, and close your eyes until we get back to your place.
Then if you like it, we can do it more often, until you feel able
to ride (your bike again.) I'll help you if you want me to.
I'm very polite and understanding. Email me if you want to.
