I'm looking to locate any info anybody might have of an interesting
conversion I came across awhile back ,it was of a bmw with an aircooled
VW engine hooked to it's tranny that was turned into a chopper ,what I
understand was this was a popular conversion at one time but what I want
to know is did they ever have a chain drive for use with a VW engine ,
any help or sites would be appreciated ,thank you

  2. A Brazilian bike manufacturer called Amazonas shoehorned a Beetle engine
into a bike frame. Google is your friend.

There's a yahoo group for these conversions... a number of them have
been done. You can ask there about an adapter plate that makes the
conversion a whole lot easier from what I can tell.

Why would I take a street cruiser thru a creek, and on gravel roads you
keep it under 30 ,and twisties you use common sense and some foresight

  7. Why would anybody ride a bike with those limitations ? To each his own
I suppose. Not so many years ago most bikes would do that straight out
    of the showroom.

you know what a dual sport with a bug engine
now that sounds like fun and totally interesting to build ,and would fly
over different terrain with ease with the right tires and specially
designed forks and then cruise down the interstate with no problems too
,to go anywhere in the country I want with some excellent fuel mileage
which should be about 40+ miles to the gallon since this engine is
designed to push a car down the road at 50 MPH and get about 36 mpg in
    stock trim .
yes I should begin designing it immediately thank you for your help and
putting me in the frame of mind that will get me attention wherever I
will go including the bike shows and bug shows

  9. BMW already builds a dual sport (sort of) with half a bug engine.
It's already one heavy pig. I don't think adding the other two
cylinders would improve things. Maybe as a warmup you could try
    dualsporting a Goldwing.
