It may have been the caramalized onion and something else really yummy
chutney one. That certainly received unanimous acclaim.

She was suitably attired for kitchen duties, have no worries on that
    score.

Redcurrant. About the only thing not made by her own fair hands.
Food higlhlight - so many choices but the huge cart wheel size
meringue - being allowed to pick a bit off before it got smothered in
    cream - thanks Steph.

My stomach's just stopped making groaning noises.[1]

That pie was wonderful. As was the curry. And the chicken and apricot
tagine. The fry-up this morning might just have shaded it though,
having played the canny fried slice joker.

    Thanks, Mrs L - you're a star.

Only got 5 landmarks on the way home. [2]

Decided against going to Wrexham, as I wouldn't have got there before
15:30, so went to Blore Heath battlefield first. [3]

Easy one, this, a stone marker at the roadside.

Then off down some very narrow lanes to Quatt to find the memorial
plaque to a chap who got a VC in WW1.

From there it was through Kidderminster to Tardebigge, on the
Birmingham and Worcester Canal, to find the plaque marking the spot
where the Inland Waterways Association was founded in 1946. Very
picturesque it was too. Narrow boat folk keep their craft in good
    order, don't they?

Number four for the day was mush further: through Redditch to
Coughton, to find the roadside cross. this was easy, and the route
suggested by the GPS to get to Lee Common in Bucks. was fine, for
about 400 yards. Then, right in front of me, was a ford. Not a little
slime laden death trap like traitor's ford last year, but a full on
foot deep horror. I doubled back, and headed south, allowing the GPS
to come up with a better alternative.

By the time it had decided on a new route, I was at the other end of
the road with the ford in it, and on my way to the M40 south of
    Warwick.

A fifty mile blat down the M40 at speeds ranging from 0-80, depending
on traffic concertina effect, and a fill-up at Cherwell Valley, and I
was off at J9, and performing a mini reverse BOTAFOT towards Lee
    Common.

By Gawd, there's some cash on show in that village. Big, and I mean
BIG, detached houses, gravel drives, three range rovers per house,
sort of cash. Very nice if you can afford it, I guess.

I would be tempted to move there, though, if only to catch another
fleeting glimpse of the stunning young lady on horseback who directed
me to the village's Jubilee Well. She was gorgeous.

Anyhoo, with me last landmark snapped, it was back down to the A413,
towards the A40 and home. The A413 was dispatched in a manner totally
unbecoming a GL1500 owner, and jolly good fun it was too.

Roll on the next little outing.

[1] Unfortunately, my backside has just started.

[2] Having picked up #28: Pendeford Dovecote, on Saturday.

[3] War of the Roses fisticuffs event.
