Just finished with this company, now I've got a few days off before
starting a decent job on Monday.

Lets just say that Mr Humphries would have spent all day polishing
    helmets.

    Excellent news.

I shall be returning home, briefly, on Thurs so do you want me drop
the c&s in to your place? ISTR you mentioned that the chain would fit
but the sprockets wouldn't, so do you want to split them? You can have
    the chain alone for 25ukp.

You ride a Thunderace and are rebuilding a GPZ500S? Seems we have things in
    common...

So what was the end result of your little disagreement regarding notice
    period?

He was told I was only giving a weeks notice, which was all I was
legally obliged to give him, to which he said I was taking the piss.
When I told him he'd been taking the piss out of me by paying crap wages
he shut up and accepted it. I had to expain a bit of Employment Law to
him, and I am sure he is aware that I'll take it further if he doesn't
    cough up.

He was moaning that I didn't give him enough notice so he could find
someone else. He's known for two weeks that I was leaving but he still
hadn't advertised my job as of yesterday, so if he's stuck for staff
    it's tough shit really.

Glad to hear you sorted it out.

If I were to ever leave I'd probably just serve the 4 weeks as I'd enjoy
    every minute of it ;-)
