It's been a long time between visits for me. Back in 2001, I got back
onto a bike (an EL250) and adopted the moniker Eliminator (then from
Melbourne). I then renamed myself to Black Maggot (because of my
CX500). Now 10 years (and almost as many bikes) later, I'm back; this
time in Sunny Perth. I'm amazed to see so many of the old names still
    frequenting this place!

Anyway, just thought I'd say "hi".

I remember a youngish guy with a black EL250 that went on a number of
    aus.motorcycles rides in Melbourne.

Once I ended up pillioning him on my grey market GTR1000 (red with
panniers) on a ride (can't remember why!).

Was that you or are I mixing you up with another EL250 rider?

That may have something to to do with the fact that you're still here,
    Nev. :)

No.. that wasn't me. I was the guy who was about 3 times too big for
the poor 'lil 250 below. LOL!

Welcome back Rod.  This place hasn't got any better.

It certainly hasn't got any more on-topic either! I had to search long
and hard to actually find a post that wasn't about trolling flight
simmers, irresponsible leaf blower operators or some guy called
    Gerry.

I guess I'll work it all out as we go along...

    Cheers.

The leaf blower thing had two different references to the use of leaf
    blowers in conjunction with motorcycles.

    Whad'y'a want? Jam on it?

As luck would have it, you walked in on the tail-end of a shitstorm
generated by a couple of lunatics from another newsgroup who thought
that the the way to get at me was to offend most of the players here.
They're not too bright, as you can tell.

Given that one of them is a Yank and the other's a Pom, it should come
as no surprise to you. ;-)

    Welcome back.

    Hi Rod,

Welcome back, pleased to meet you.

<aside to Johno> Will you STOP calling me a WENCH? Sheesh!

Rod, it's WITCH - beer WITCH. (Please excuse Johno - he's old and
    confused... ;-P)

Beer WENCH is a title for younger girlies, and is not a dignified title for
a short-legged ranga of my 'crone' vintage. I am, however, a jolly good
beer WITCH when I remember, and if it doesn't interrupt my own shiraz
schedule too much, ha ha ha. I even have a you-beaut witchy hat (thanks
BTH). Clem will vouch for the quality of my curtsey :)

have got the guys and gals over aus.motorcycles spitting chips
    bigtime.

These two lunatics have been over there telling outrageous porkies and
generally offending a whole swag of people, all apparently in YOUR
name, guys. Did you know that?

Latest development is that some of the outraged Aussie bikers are
talking about returning the favour and giving YOU guys the
Dallas/MikeW(*) treatement over here. How many of you poeple are
aware that two collegues of yours have been war mongering in another
    newsgroup?

I'm not posting this to try to provoke a war between two newsgroups.
I'm posting it because I honestly believe that most members of this
newsgroup are unaware of the trouble these two guys are causing over
there, and that the members here do NOT approve of the behaviour of
these two lunatics. It's time you guys appointed an ambassador to go
over there and try to broker peace before it's too late.

    Don't say you weren't informed.Listen , you brain-fucked idiot, SUPPOSING
    for one minute that your
paranoid delusions are actually fact, PLEASE EXPLAIN how, even it were
my intention to start a war, how that would happen if people didn't
want it? In other words, how can a war start between people who
    don't want to fight?

Yah... that sounds like work, I think I'll just continue doing what I've
been doing and auto mark the troll threads as read so I don't see them.
If anyone gets too obvious and annoying outside those threads I'll
    plonk em.

That's me, although the DR750 was sold in good order (not killed).

I eventually worked my way up through an XJ650 (did I say up?), a
    Zephyr 750 (a cool bike), a brand new GSX1400 in 2007 (what a beast)
and now back to an old GSX1100G. The G has the best bits of my two
favourite bikes... the legendary suzuki air-cooled 4 mated with a
shaft drive, reminiscent of my CX days.

When you're tipping the scales at 130Kg, 500cc's just aint enough.
(Also, the brakes and suspension of the CX didn't like my hefty frame
    either!)
