If you don't want ID cards to be introduced

  1. My local Tory councillor suggested that you can apply for a permanent
postal vote rather than doing a one-off every election.

  3. Rice has told Clark that to aid the US in fighting terror the chips[1]
we use in biometrics passes must be the type proposed for future US
implementation (?Passports?) and that the US must have access to the
data but not necessarily the other way around because of risks in US
    security.

So yes you will be scanned visiting any retail outlet to give the US the
edge on marketing in the UK.

[1] They were proposed to be manufactured in the UK but that looks like
    it wont happen.

I read this lot in the last few days and can't find the references so if
anyone is interested Google for it. I'm off out right now.

  4. And that ghastly shit Clarke will say 'yes, ma'am' to everything so he can
count as a best buddy like Bliar, and make pots of money on the US lecture
circuit in due course. Hell, if that's the way we're heading, we may as
well become a full-on state like Texas, rather than a third world
province/pet/source of cheap labour like Puerto Rico.

The structure in the iris deteriorates too fast.

The solution to the problem is to thoroughly validate the issue of the
card against the holder at issue, and then ensure that the card is
    unique
    thereafter.

    The technology exists for that.

Most Europeans have ID cards already. By way of comparison the
    Gibraltar
ID card is issued free at a cost of around five pounds to Government
    and
is valid as a travel document etc.

The original UK ID card was also issued for free, although cardboard
is cheaper than smartcards, there is no reason why it should cost what
    Labour propose.
