....what the ****** is George Galloway doing on Big Brother (as the BBC are
reporting) when the twat is ment to be a sitting MP?

How is being on Big fucking twat Brother meant to be 'best representing' his
    constituents, for fucks sake?
    Grrrrr... I

MO, Sitting (and recently former) MPs should be banned from any paid or
Un-paid employment other than their previous profession for, ooh, say, 5
years minimum. At least then they'd keep their minds on the job they're
    elected to!

I was unfortunate enough to be flicking past Ch4 at an inopportune time and
he definitely wasn't on it. Role call was Michael Barrymore, Pete Burns,
some Baywatch burd, bloke from Goldie looking Chain, Rula Lenska, Jodie
Marsh, some ex-basketball bloke and some blonde, non-celebrity bimbo.

Well they shouldn't be there unless they have a decent level of
educational qualification and have had the responsibility, sometime in
life, to meet a payroll either IMHO.

Mindewe I'd also require a GB genealogy proving family residence for 400
    years too.

So you'd sooner they claimed rock & roll once they'd been kicked out
at an election if they can't go back to their previous profession?

I can't see the wine waiter getting a job on a north sea ferry again
so once he's gone he's on the dole according to your ideas.

That's fucked our deputy PM then.
Good idea. No more Jocks, sheep shaggers or terrorists then. You did
mean English family residence didn't you?

Well, let's take a balanced view.

CBB is for washed-up no-hopers with zero self-respect and a desperate
need to boost their earnings with one last shot at cheap publicity.

I'd say he fits right in.

In fact, I hope he wins it.

They get a pension (better than my old local govt salary) after being kicked
out anyhow..... Not that I agree with it, but they do.
    [Bait swallowed]
I'd rather people went into politics to change *other* people's lives for
    the better than their own.

I know this panders to the rich-**** Thatcher set, but I'd rather they did
what they did 'cos they believed in it than because it'll get them an even
better wedge once they 'retire' from Westminster.

    I agree.

I just don't agree he should be allowed to be a sitting(paid) MP at the same
    time.......

350 is enough for a general rule about claiming nationality but I am
happy to stick with being born here as a requirement for MP's.

a few minutes ago. An interesting contribution to the debate by
    a US Congressman.

I started to feel sick about 4 lines into it.......

I dread to think what would have happened had I actually heard it spoken in
    sanctimonious US-politician speak....

I've a lot of time for George Galloway. Maybe it's a stunt to get
airtime so he can get his point of view across?

Like his politics or not, we could do with more politicians like him,
people who believe what they're doing and are committed to it.
