Filled with 5 litres of fresh unleaded, it started!

    On the 32nd kick.

Helmet on, and off for a lap of the IOD.

I forgot quite how many revs it needs to pull away. Lots.

The front end seems very stiff, my arms are still pumped now.

    Must need lighter oil.

I'd also forgotten how dreadful the front brake was. The rear is good.

Anyway, it pootles along quite nicely at 40 in 3rd/4th, at around 4k
revs - all inoffensive and sweetness personified.

Crack the throttle, and all hell breaks loose. The needle zings round
to 8k as quick as you can change gear, the last vestiges of handling
go out of the window, and every window pane within 100 yds vibrates in
time with the exhaust. A definite head-turner.

Two laps of the IOD, and one foray over the Lower Lea Crossing - where
it ventured up to 70, and it went onto reserve at Mudchute station.

    Eleven miles.

Worth every penny. It even idled when I got home.

  3. It's also a nice demonstration of sheer bike obsession.

I hope I never get that bad.

Are you trying to tell us you've got a collection of prog rock albums?

  8. Bwaaahahahahahaha!

And as for the Euro tour - a CD200 Benly is miles better than a poxy

    Three? THREE!

One might be forgiven. Two is definitely questionable, but three is
    full on perversion, FFS.

hehe. The 1st one I got was a bit of a dog but had very clean
mechanicals and sat for a year in the shed awaiting a decent fuel tank
    and plastics.

I grabbed another 2 cheap, so i've now three that I can create two
    reasonable bikes out of.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

<VBG> True, I think i'm seeing a flaw to my logic here.

I fell in love with bikes when I was about 14 when my woodwork teacher
brought in a brand new Superdream.

Sorry, it's all in the upbringing ..

Thank Christ he didn't bring in some brit bike, like a Bonneville ..

    Cheers

    Paul.

Not really, it just seemed as good as place as any to admit to owning a
    Superdream.

I was really disappointed as I'd always thought they looked pretty good
with proper big bike looks, if you like, but they were so slow and buzzy.

I think I had more fun on my C15 - which is a fairly damning comment.

My Metalwork and Tech Drawing teacher - who I got on really well with -
owned a Cossack outfit. When i'd left school I went up there to see
mates in the 6th form on my FS1E and raced him up the road, I beat it.
