    Is 6' 9" wide and 8' 6" long.

Does that equate to 5.31 square meters?

    My brain has stopped working!

    I make that [1] 2.7M x 3.4M = 9.18 square metres

[1] At my usual approximation of 30 inches to the metre.

No. Somewhere around 4.25 I think.
    Try (6.25*0.81)*((3-0.16666)*0.81)

It is all right I have solved it now. I missed carrying the 7 in
    another post.

And I found a 2 that was lurking the wrong side of a decimal point which
    didn't help much either.

I am getting closer don't worry. I've have it cracked in an hour or
two. Provided I can remember how to get my poxy calculator to work out
    the 4th root of pi.

It is the numbers you get these days what does it. They are just not
the same. Now in my day we had proper numbers to deal with not that
wishy washy crap they make you do sums with these days.
