    Hang the Tory dog!

But you have been a member of a political party in the past, one would
    assume.

I think you just did call Mick a liar, actually.

Instead of all this bollocks jump to www.atlantits.com and invest your time
    more rewardingly.

Someone sent me the link, just had a Dekko and I do believe it's the finest
library of pneumatic young ladies I've ever seen on the web. It's positively
encyclopaedic with a decent range on each gal. Seems to be free of all
    membership, cc and popup bollocks.

Suitable for males and bi-females and NO of course it's not fucking work
    friendly.

  5. I thought I posted a very anti Tory post with my own personal opinion of
Michael Howard or didn't you read that?
OK each to his choice. Anything not to the left of Karl Marx is a Tory
    right? :)
But is that on both side of the house?
You can only do that if you have collateral, that affect the big boys
and the small ones. But that was his business side which was always run
on an overdraft (or so I understand) I was referring to his personal
    wealth.

He had a superb pad, a full blown castle. His wife Jane looked the twin
of my Jane, we swopped pea-foul for several years.
German Company: Analytica Gmbh registered Bremen.
Offices Bremen, Freiburg and Munich I was one of the two company
    directors.

I sold my share to my partner, when I returned to England for personal
reasons. I believe Analytica Gmbh still has offices in Bremen for
contracting primarily with the Man Space Flight Centre and Munich for
the Messer and a new one in Karlsruhe. I have nothing to do with it now
and I believe it is still expanding successfully.

My first contact to stand for MEP was made by parliamentary contacts [1]
with the University of Kent at Canterbury, where I had been at the Space
Sciences Unit. I was contacted after I had left, to ask if I would be
prepared to involve myself. It went no further than their inquiry. I
    declined

The second was by friends who were in the 'local to me in Kent'
Conservative party, who thought I would, if I spent enough time, be a
candidate. On meeting more of them, I didn't like their line in, 'this
is what you will think and do'. I declined

[1] Member of the Joint Parliamentary Space Committee. They knew me
because I was at that time liaising with ERNO in Bremen and ESTEC in
Holland on behalf of the Uni to carry experiments on space vehicles.
Further contacts with the JPSC were made when the made their first visit
to Kourou and the ESA launch base. The JPSC contacted the BNSC[2] who
contacted CNES[3], CNES told them to talk to me for details of any
visits, they did, and on all following visits. I knew several different
JPSC members as they changed hence my reference to several member from
    both sides of the house

    [2] British Space agency (giggle)
[3] French Space agency who run the base.

  6. I don't take offence, he doesn't know me or who I am. (I think?)

No, no, no, not at all. I just think that examples of Tory sleaze are
more numerous, and more serious (Lord Archer, anyone?).

So Mick's mud-slinging seems to be politically motivated, though he
    denies it.

It doesn't look that way to an outsider. But then again I've spent a
lot of time wearing leather so it feels normal.

Well I can accept almost all of what you say. All except the lurid
colours being for safety reasons. Thanks.

    Damn but you're picky.

Anyway it's now a criminal offence to discriminate against a girl on the

OK, if someone had asked me "do you think Mick has been approached to be
an MEP I would have thought about it and said not sure, but if I was to
    place a bet no".

But, having met Mick he comes across different face-to-face (as I'm sure
    do we all).

If Mick says he was approached I'm willing to believe him.

Mick's achieved more in his working life than most, why would he feel
the need to talk himself up to strangers?

    I read it. I responded.

Your political posting is primarily concerned with knocking the Labour
    Govt, though, wouldn't you agree?
Yes, he had works of art, a castle and a few acres in Scotland. He
    didn't have any readies, though.

    Well, that's the detail. Fine.

I'm not going to say that it didn't happen, but I'm still very
sceptical. I've never heard of any approach to anyone who wasn't a
long-term party activist. That goes for all the parties.

I've met Mick, quite briefly. Lovely bloke. There's nothing personal
    in this.
The reason I'm not convinced is that it's unlikely, given how political
    parties recruit candidates.

And, if I'm honest, it's comes across as a little Bear-esque. I'm sure
it's perfectly possible that someone said to Mick something like "you'd
be a great MEP, Mick", and in the telling it becomes "Mick, please will
you be our candidate for the European Parliament?".
It's more than he's a mischievous scamp who enjoys a bit of verbal
    bantering!

    John Stonehouse?

Seriously the Tories had about 3 times the period Labour have had so far
in office. Time for a lot of rotten apples to surface.
    Isn't everyones?

I despise Labour for many reasons but high on the list is their sheer
bloody hypocricy; they came to power on a "sleaze free government"
ticket and have been lax at the top about sleaze and willing to brush it
    under the carpet.

However I don't think that the Tories or LibDems would make a better job
of governing the country at the moment. Wouldn't necessarily make a
    worse one though!
