not a lot to add to Col's report, except that the weather was much nicer than last year!

no major incidents, somewhere around 120 or 130 bikes, all shapes and sizes...
there was even one bloke there from brisbane who apparently rode down specifically for the ride!

my favourite moment of the evening was the look on the faces of riders of Across's and VTR1000's
when they said it would be 230 or so km until the first fuel stop! hehehe

    cheers

They said the same last year and we passed 3 or 4 petrol stations which were
    open in the first 200km.

    than last year!

it was cold as soon as the rain cleared....and the fog!?!?!?!
    specifically for the ride!

there was a few offs...i think that the guy riding in front of me during the
last leg fell asleep and hit the road pretty hard....
maybe the bmw club should factor in routes that go past or near fuel
stations.....i took the option of going straight to the hume to re-fill as I
wasnt sure if my bike would have made it....petty as I would have preferred
to stick to the original route....

    cheers

  6. The Beemers'll all do 400km on one tank--if people insist on bringing on
bringing unsuitable bikes to these rides, that's their problem... ;-)

Postman Pat (Of course,if the ride was held during the day,in warmer
    weather,and not so far away,maybe I'd go...)

  8. Between 240 and 260 on premium, a bit less on ulp to reserve. I was
travelling pretty gently because of the conditions.

make the 916 look good at about 13-14 litres for 245 kays :)

  10. The sprint used to get about that as well, the ZRX1200 economy (sic) came as
a slight shock... but after I thought back to the Bandit 1200 I realised it
wasn't actually that bad... and we are talking about a 1/3rd difference in
capacity between the 916/sprint and the ZRX after all :)

thats still around 7.5 litres per hundred kays

a lot of cars get better economy than that

so much for bikes being cheap transport ;)
