A SENIOR crime figure almost shot to death in August has himself been arrested
over allegations of a plot to kill a former associate.

Fadi Ibrahim, the second youngest of the Ibrahim ''brothers grim'' - nightclub
mogul John, former bikie Hassan ''Sam'' and convicted killer Michael - was
    charged last night.

The Herald understands that the alleged target is a 37-year-old Sydney man, whom
the Herald will call Mr Smith, formerly associated with the Ibrahim clique.

Mr Smith, along with his younger brother, had been associated with the Ibrahims
until a falling out in 2007.

On June 5, Fadi was shot five times when he arrived at his Castle Cove home in a
    black Lamborghini.

Yesterday Fadi's younger brother Michael, who is serving at least six years for
a 2006 manslaughter, was moved from the Broken Hill jail to the state's highest
    security jail, Goulburn Jail's ''Supermax''.

Police are understood to be considering charging him with the alleged conspiracy.

Officers rang Fadi's lawyer, Stephen Alexander, about 2pm and asked him to bring
Fadi to Waverley police station. They arrived about 30 minutes later and Fadi
was arrested by Middle Eastern Organised Crime detectives.

He was moved to the Sydney Police Centre, where he was interviewed and then
charged with conspiracy to murder last night.

Mr Alexander emerged from the station about 5.30pm, but had little to say. ''We
were asked to go down to the station and we went there,'' he said. He then went
to Kings Cross, where he spent several hours talking to Fadi's older brother, John.

Earlier in the day, about 9am, a former member of the Nomads motorcycle club,
nicknamed ''Goldy'' due to a row of fake gold teeth, was arrested at his house
in Rosehill. Police found two pistols, a silencer, ammunition and some drugs.

''Goldy'' was a member of Sam Ibrahim's now-defunct Parramatta chapter of the
    Nomads.

It is understood the police operation used to snare the alleged plotters began
    shortly after Fadi's shooting.

The alleged victim and his younger brother had been involved with the Ibrahims
in their nightclubs and with the Notorious crime gang, but had a falling out in
    2007.

When the alleged victim returned from an overseas trip in early August, police
met him at the gate and told him that his life was in danger.

They helped him move house and told him they were monitoring people they
    believed wanted him dead.

The covert operation sprung yesterday was the brainchild of Strike Force
Bellwood, a Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad initiative.

Perhaps the accused used to ride with the Mosman chapter of the Angels?

At the risk of thread jacking, anyone interested in a quiet little ride

  3. Andrew,
please put their full name in as Hells Angels, not Angels
From what I have seen and been told over the years,
the current HA's have no affiliation with the older club Angels
which were going a lot longer before the HA started up in OZ
