Anonymous delivery van driver breaks down on a flooded back road:-

"I had been through two floods already and I was feeling lucky"

Except that this particular road is one that floods if a passing sheep
sneezes [1] and has permanent road signs at each end to indicate if it
is open or closed *and* there are at least two other routes he could
    have gone.

So we now have one van sitting in the yard with a knackered engine and
had to do the work of four using just three vans yesterday - We wuz
    not happy bunnies.

Maybe they've followed a more realistic course and had him in the
    office for a verbal warning?

I think he should be commended for bravery in the face of adversity [1].
It's not his fault you never fitted snorkels to the vehicle, you new it
was raining heavily. In fact he'll probably sue the company for the trauma.

[1] There is probably a law firm out there re-branding from Ambulance
chasers r us to Flood trauma compensation specialists.

Indeed, the bloke sounds like a bit of a Champion if you ask me.

I think "dopey ****" is a fair summary of his persona. He is off
anyway once the autumn school term starts so any disciplinary action
will be like water off a duck's back, At least he trashed the same
van as he put in a ditch last winter - so there is a bright side.

This is Britain where every vehicle is amphibious.
