  1. Thanks Yannic... I can only think about V Twins in pairs... you see there's no
hope... besides I like sleeping with Mr.RC45... he knows how to cuddle...

  2. Well there ya go, then!
I have a standing offer to ride one of my fellow AFMers' , the only
problem is he hasn't shown up for many races lately. His was a street
bike till a red-light runner smashed them both up in SF. Now it's a
race bike, too. (Different one from the one that was in the endurance
race last weekend.) I would love to take it for a spin on the track,
but I understand they are a torture rack on the street.

  3. Well, apparently not on sand! And certainly not in the wet (not that
this was the problem this time).

so don't bet that our check book is not balanced... I never touch it... your
pedestrian 750 may have more top speed but you'll be rewarded with lower lap
    times on HRCs homologated racer...

esplane me then all the street rubber on the market with
tread patterns. The racing slick approach is only good for a
clean dry track...the grooves are there for a reason...to
channel away water and give bits of sand a place to go so the
rubber can reach the road through a little sand.

If yer notion were entirely correct then all street bikes
would run slicks..but they dont...they runs treads.

  18. It has been written that slicks offer the best wet grip up to the point of hydro
planning... namely around 80 mph depending on weight of the bike... I agree
because if a tire has great dry grip then it has great wet grip as well...
groves only work to channel water... grooves don't offer grip... a tire's
compound rules the coefficient of grip... so if you run a tire noted for it's
dry grip in the wet... you'll have a higher rate of grip than a tire that's so
so in the dry... the key is to stay below hydro planning speed to be safe... but
we have grooves because lawyers profit off of lawsuits and people can't be
trusted to keep it below hydro planning speed...
