My partner is the complete opposite. It's all I can do not to set fire to
his desk. I'm forever saying "Why are you keeping that?" "It's out of date"
"If you haven't read it in a week you're not going to read it"

Perhaps you can come and exmplain that concept to Rachel? She opens junk
mail, reads it, decides it's junk and the files [1]the fucking stuff :<

[1] In a file, with important things like driving licences and insurance
    docs etc

    Buy a shredder. Highly satisfying.

    Erm, use it?

    Get to the post first?

Either that, or get her a separate file divider for "Junk Mail". Then shred
    it once a month.

Heh, I'm inclined to do that (accumulate paper) so... when it comes to
paper if I just need to read it I tear a corner off every time I handle
it. Sooner or later I end up binning it rather than 'filing' it on my
    desk.

Emails- at the end of the month pull it into a dated 'action' folder.
After the next month end if I haven't done anything with it then it
wasn't important enough to merit my attention and it gets deleted. I
never have a problem with exceeding my email disk quota.

Buy one of those dustbins with holes in it designed to be used as a
    garden incinerator. Fantastic.

Shredders are good for stuff that needs it[1], but junk mail around here
tends to find its way back into a postbox with "Not Known At This Address"
written on it... which seems to have stemmed the tide a bit.

[1] Primarily those credit card cheques that our various card .co's keep
    sending us.

Looks very much like my front room, I have a flat pack kitchen and 3
    appliances in there.

It's making its out to its final resting place .. slowly ...
