Here's an idea... If their riding is obviously that crap, offer to help,
show them the right way. I'm sure they would appreciate it, I certainly
    would have and still would.

I suppose you'll claim this is a bite but...

    a) It was the last corner (before the junction) on the B401*2* that I fell
    off on.
    b) Nothing broke off the SV, it merely cracked the fairing and bent a lever
    c) The road in question was the A329.

As is mine but not when I'm on some heap of shit that hasn't warmed up
    properly.

As when it stalls - and that's a definite when - it'll be neither hot or
cold and no amount of desperate kicking will entice it back to life until
the lights have changed and I've pushed the cunting thing to the side of
    the road.

Whereupon it will start first kick.

    Er, that was a joke.
I have attended a BOTAFOT run (though the bastard kotl of the
time didn't give me a number). I don't remember seeing any crap
    riders.

I don't analyze my road riding style at all. I'd not presume to go
around critiquing other peoples riding styles. I'm sure that I
regularly commit a multitude of 'sins' myself.

It sounds like any of my bikes with only a kickstart.

I didn't think I'd point it out for them - they've got enough of an
inferiority complex as it is. Bless 'em.

I sort of had one of those yesterday. First time in years I have had to
use down two and seriously hard acceleration to get me out of an unseen
pending problem. Grateful to Mr Suzuki and his nasty little screaming
series of bolted together 150s I was. Sounded fucking ace it did,
redlining it in first with true purpose.

  15. Not that he needs one, really. The same supernatural powers that allow him
to call a bike that he's never ridden an 'underpowered shed', and tell
someone whom he's never met that the latter 'can't ride for toffee', should
see him all right when it comes to 'virtual riding'.

Does yours have a race can on it?

I was testing the limits of the rev limiter the other day, 55 in 1st, 80
    in 2nd and 100 in 3rd.

Oh excellent stuff! You'll have a great time :)

I'm thoroughly enjoying myself at Northampton - it's hard work but
very rewarding when you get decent grades back on assignments. Roll on
year 2 (especially the field trip to the USA).

my R30, and to a lesser extent, my SZR, were cunts to start when warm.
No worries cold or hot, just not warm - both had electric start (the
R30 had kickstart too), but if you stalled either before they'd been
running 10-15 minutes, they were appalling to try and get running again
    - twice I ran down the battery on the R30 trying to re-start it after
stalling it when warm - let it cool down for half an hour, and it'd
    start first kick.
