I think it's about time we had a new list.....

Heh no, It's not so much the make as the state they're in.

One of them in Jap designed but built in Kentucky USA and is the only
car I know with 2 rear wipers. The other I think you already know.

  2. In Lozzo triped:
No - 1.6 on the J plate was the Honda lump - at that time the K series was
only available in 1.1 and 1.4 8 and 16 valve variants. The bigger K series
came later once BMW had shafted the Honda collaboration.

I think its a belonging thing.

Bit like the little 'secret' clubs that we made up as children. They
were great. This, however, smacks of desperation.

hang > > out in the car newsgroups anyway.

It's not just this NG, IMO, it's everything. Even RL has become a dull
insipid existence. No sense of personal or collective responsibility, or
    a desire to change things.

Just a grasping wish to get something someone else hasn't or to make sure
that someone doesn't get something you haven't, wrapped up in a whine
that 'they' are out to get them.

This has nothing to do with the desperation of a shit car list but it
just seems to gel with my current dislike of most things.

Well I'm completely in agreement with you.

Sig numbers gernarally are to do with what people are like, or what
they've done. It beats me why anyone would want to start a list about
personal possessions. I've got a shite old frying pan. Do I get to
    award myself #SOFP1?

And, since he hasn't appeared thus far, can I nominate Jack Hackett,
on the off-chance he still has the 1993 Corsa 1.5 turbodiesel which
    constituted my last 4 wheeler?
It had 235K on it when I sold it to him a couple of years ago, and had
needed a new radiator, new water pump, new alternator, and new rear
shocks since I bought it new. Oh, and 3 new wheelbearings, and 2 new
    speedometers.

Yeah but he's all trousers and no mouth - I would have expected him to just
do it, rather then thinking about it.

It's at times like this I'm glad my car budget is greater than your house
    budget.

Couldn't agree more. I'd written something along similar lines, quite
dismissive and insulting but then thought better of posting it on the
basis that my psychological make up is hardly blemish free.

The clubs with the old blokes, the sweets and the puppies, you mean?

Oh, life's shit allright, but I was comparing this newsgroup *now* with
how it was, say, four years ago. This NG has gone downhill faster than
    life in general.

I'm on the cusp of turning 40 and have had a little time to reflect
recently. I thought that with the whole punk thing *my* generation were
going to make a difference. Of course, we haven't. We've generated
some fucking good technology but that's about it. We've not changed
anything, we've just got old and selfish.

Does this mean you're kotl? 'cos if that's the case I've got an old
Tefal that I should have thrown out years ago?

Any chance of a number for that?

Hmm, well you know what they say about people that need to drive a large

Only if you can prove it's the only one you own.

Bugger. I've just realised I don't even qualify myself, because I have
access to two nice cast-iron frying pans of Pat's.

You don't understand Steve; Ben's trying to help you. He's like Jesus and
you're like a cripple and he's trying to help you walk again. And I'm like
an apostle trying to help you understand. And Des is like Caiaphas who wants
to put the boot in because of insecurity.
