  1. They won't let me have those. Sadly, everything I seem to like the side
effects of is not on the list.

I saw a dead one today in Mundford near Thetford this morning... wedged
in the front bumper of a Corsa driving through the town - I mean it had
smashed a hole and was most of it was hanging out. Young lass who was
driving seemed to be oblivious that this dead thing had wrecked her
    bumper.

In 199x, I was in the habit of meeting friends in a Chinese restaurant
in Leighton Buzzard of a Sunday evening, to take advantage of their
"All you can eat for a tenner" special deal. It was special, because
the third (or was it the fourth, I unremember as I was into the second
bottle of wine by then) course was Crispy Duck with pancakes and plum
    sauce. Verry nice, too.

Without warning, our Chinese disappeared, to be replaced by another
bunch of even more inscrutable Oriental gentlemen and the place became
a Mongolian restaurant. They maintained the deal, though, although the
dishes changed. We continued our patronage as we saw a chance to
expand our culinary horizons. The Crispy Duck became Crispy Fried
Goat. With pancakes and plum sauce (!) and it was just sublime, I tell
    you.

We tried very hard (to the extent of starving all day) to get through
the rotating courses to a second go at the Goat, but it proved
impossible as the second time through the starters doubled in quantity
and the first main course was enormous - and part of the deal was that
the table had to be cleared of comestibles before they'd rustle up the
    next round.

I'd recommend goat, though. No reason to be wary - provided it is
    cooked well, obviously.

Impressive. She'll have been a bit surprised when she saw it - prolly
heard the thump, got a shower of feathers and thought no more of it.

I collected a flock of sparrows in the front of a Dolomite, once. When
I got to the pub and looked at the front of the car, there was two in
the eggbox grille, headfirst, and two or three in between the bumper
and front panel, wedged in and suspended by their necks. Ignoring
well-meaning advice to "Rip 'em out, rip their 'eads orf!", I took hold
of each warm little corpse and slid them out around the bumper.
    Noisome.

    Why obviously?

Young goat (chivo here) needs to be cooked medium-rare. Just a bit of blood.

ITHM "cooked with skill" rather than "well done". As in using the
appropriate method for the cut of meat.

  11. Bloody hell... a Rope post I agree with.

Well except for missing out the dose the carcase with arsenic before
feeding to the foxes and badgers.

  12. The nonsense is the product of the poster. Basically he's flipped his
lid ages ago and just rants random nonsense. Like one of those blokes
who wander around muttering to themselves.

'Cos it's obvious. Badly-cooked goat would ming more than a little.

    *ding*

Badly-cooked crispy goat is, well, pointless. Either shrapnelacious or
soggy, or tough as old boot. Floppy lumps in curry are not very nice,
    either.

  15. Nipping along the bypass one day, I looked down and there was a
Blackbird trapped by the leg between the fairing and the engine casing.
I stopped and it fucked off with an indignant squawk.

  16. It is good. We had one that fell victim to a natural disaster, like
strangling itself on a fence. Tasted lovely.

I stopped ordering lamb curries a long time ago because they really seem to
use the toughest old mutton that they can find. The shame is, that mutton,
"cooked well, obviously" can be a cracking meat. By cooked well, I don't
mean rare though, in fact I don't know how one should cook the less tender
cuts of mutton. Saw a programme on English telly the other night all about
it, but didn't take notes. Mind, I doubt I could find edible mutton where I
live. The sheep and goats here graze on stones.

Don't worry about it. Normal behaviour for it to spout the occasional
    outburst from the corner.

Works jolly well with lamb as well.
    Camel's not bad either.
