  2. Looks suspiciously like what's fitted to my Ducati.

    <Goes into garage to check>

Yup, layout is *identical*, except there are some very slight
differences in the actual style of the light switches. The headlight
    flasher looks identical.

Oh, and there's no choke mounting.

The 600, 750 and 900 SS models used Honda XBR500 switchgear, so my guess
is it's XBR or similar Honda, or even Ducati from a different year to
    mine (which is 1997).

Hmm, seeing as you've mentioned Honda, and ISTR Sweller has a shiteold
CX500, my guess is that he robbed them from that POS.

I recall seeing a on ebay a rather nice T3 converted to '70s/'80s-style BMW
switchgear. Looked neat and professional, though - you might want something
    a little more industrial....

No, it's a Guzzi item from a later machine. Just I can't remember which
    one.

  6. Oh-*kay*.....

It's relatively late, then, and I repeat that it's near-identical to my
    Ducati switch cluster....

There's this CEV unit fitted to late Guzzis, which looks like it's
    functionally the same.

switches and some orange paint on the light switch

Had me confused at first because both the indicator and horn buttons
    are missing.

It's a Quota unit, though Guzzi being Guzzi is probably shared with
most other bikes of the late nineties.

The indicator switch isn't missing - I know that's in the top drawer of
    my tool box.

Excellent. Now I know what to ask the breakers for.

  11. Blimey. As they only sold about three in the UK, you could be in for a
    long wait.

But according to the website I've just browsed, the same unit was fitted
to the Cali 3, Le Mans 5 and Spada 3.

As you no doubt know, Quotas were and are exceedingly rare. I guess
your plan is to go to a Guzzi dealer/breaker and get a part number
than can then be checked against other types, yes?

I've seen at least four. Ok, that was in ten years.

OK guys the unit is identical to the one fitted to the lads MuZ Saxon
Sportstar 125. You know the ETZ with the tarts clothing added that
sold in literally 1's and 2's.

Cheapest place for a brand new one is Burwins in London. Phone on
Tuesday and ask for Martin or Ann. You can also try a guy who trades
    on Ebay as "MZ Heaven"

Its basically off the shelf CEV Italian early 90s stuff.

My guess is Burwins will be about half to a third cheaper that
anything or place with the word Gizzi or Ducatti attached to it.

    Woo Hoo!

Know them well - although my dealings are predominantly 6v.

As I thought but didn't know what it was off.

  16. Well, if you don't need mirrors, or to see speed traps, why bother
    with indicators...

Jeez. Who would convert something to use BMW switchgear? I thought
    everybody hated BMW indicator switches?

Exactly. I've got a box of 70s OE switchgear. I wanted switchgear that
isn't 20-30 years old and actually stands a chance of working.

Well, I got on perfectly well with them. You may be thinking of the
horrendous adventure in avantgarde ergonomics inflicted on the oilhead
    versions.
