I Really Cleaned My Leathers...

  1. White leather... good for being seen... good at reflecting the suns heat...
but bad in showing dirt... so here's the best way I found to keep them
    smelling and looking like new...

I turned my suit inside out... I scrubbed the blue liner with sponge dipped
in hot water and a mild detergent... I rinsed with a garden hose... I air
    dry in the breeze...

I scrubbed every inch of the suit with a soft bristled tooth brush dipped in
alcohol... I removed grime from all the nooks and crannies... I did not harm
    the surface... I happy...

Did you treat them with any kind of conditioner when you were done?

  3. Tim... no conditioner... I just wiped the alcohol off and let air dry... try
it and let us know what success you have...

That's my dream--white leathers for the summer rides and black for the
winter.......clean, of course. I've been using Lexol and, believe it or
    not, Armor-All's Leather Cleaner.
    Later!

  5. It's always best to test first but the alcohol doesn't reach the leather
underneath the surface dye/paint so you should be OK...

  8. I've been thinking about experimenting with pure lanolin on my leather
goods. If its good enough to keep a leather boat afloat, it should work
    fine for other leather goods.

I cleaned my white jacket a few weeks ago with saddle soap. It got
clean and was much softer afterwards, too.
