    So was I.

In all honesty, I had three major wobbles before I got out of the test
centre car park, and decided that I'd failed already. Imagine my
surprise when he said that I'd passed.

He said that someone that's 6'6" shouldn't be a 125 and that wobbles
    are only to be expected.

    I was very pleased.

    On Tue, 8 Mar 2005 18:37:41 +0000,
Yes. I picked up my Kawasaki ER-5 and had a zoom around on it (all
insured and taxed) and even though I was only doing an indicated 80mph
on the motorway, I felt very unstable and more than a tad scared on
several occasions. So I think I'm going to have to go to work via the
motorway for the next few weeks so that I get used to it.

I ended up leaning all the way forward on it to cut down on the wind
resistance, hiding behind the flyscreen, which helped somewhat. I
didn't bother with lifesavers on the motorway either, just relied on
the mirrors and smooth lane movements. Are "no lifesavers" on the
motorway frowned upon? I think that if I threw my head around then
I'd just go off at some odd angle.

Plus I did something very childish. I set off two GATSO's purely
because I had no front plates.

Perhaps I'll have got it out of my system now. Time for the real
learning to start. I may call the Riding School back and ask them if
I can have some further training in the next couple of months. I
remember doing a "PassPlus" for my car licence.

I hope for your sake they weren't GATSOs, because if they were... Well,
at least you know where the test centre is.

I think they're technically only supposed to nab people from behind,
but these nab on both sides of the road, they just got a few photos of
the front of my bike. No camera at my rear.

Which was rather the point I was trying to make. Had the OP set off two
GATSOs he'd be looking at a high probability of six point and a retest.
    So:
I think *he* was thinking of Truvelos. Know your enemy stuff, see?

    Grr... Grrrr...

Calm, I am calm. I am an island of tranquillity. Calm.

Champ emerged from their own little world to say
They do, but you can't see it. Infra red.
    http://www.radardetectors.co.uk/truvelo_speed_camera.htm

Bastard, cunting things are all over Portsmouth now and I don't go there
often enough to become conditioned to their location and forward facing
thievery. Either my car speedo is wildly inaccurate or they have a high
threshold as I have not had a ticket, yet.
