Oh right, a pathetic and forlorn attempt at humour?
You are right[1], I should have recognised it straight away, it (the
pathetic humour) being so familiar to me and all that. Ta.

[1] Actually you are right. A little while ago I noticed I had no lungs
so I set about a bit of gentle exercise to remedy this. The result is
that either it needs more exercise or something a tad more stretching as
it hasn't worked and although not weak I am now limited.

Thanks for the offer but assuming I get off my fatting arse either today
or tomorrow and go shopping I shall[1] sort it Wednesday.

[1] The brakes need a looking at certainly. On me way home last night:
the first time I used the front brake (for a junction where I have to
stop 99.9% of the time) I heard and felt what was remarkable similar to
that horrible metal on metal thing that happens only when the pads are
    gone.

Hey ho thought I, "home on the back brake only, or a perfect opportunity
and time to play the Perfect Anticipation Game for a bit," but this was
not to be. As I was working my way out of the town through the series
of 200 yards straights and the left right left flicks that are the
chicanes between them I had a tentative play and everything worked as it
    did earlier in the day.

Worried slightly at the total lack of symptoms I made efforts to stress
the front brake to see if I could reproduce the fault and thus satisfy
myself it was only the pads need doing. It didn't reoccur. I assumed
it was just dust or summat and rode home, without incident (or anything
that I am going to admit to here anyway), in the appropriate manner for
a motorcyclist of discernment on a warm summers evening but I know the
brakes need doing so it is going to happen anyway.
