    Hello guys,

The repair people are unable to find a front end for my bike !!!

If anyone knows of a place or person I can get one from please let me know
    ASAP.

I am going through major withdrawels.

    Please help me.

    It's a 1980 model Yamaha SR 250.

Seriously, just sit down with the phone book and phone wrecker's
yards. We're not going to do it for you.

Or consider writing the bike off after all.

  6. Charmayne,

The Australia wide motorccle trading magazines have wreckers in them and
they advertise what bikes they are wrecking. Also a section at the back for
    individuals for sale/wanted etc.

But as long as your tubes are bent that much that they are kinked they can
be straightened. Or worst case senario buy new tubes. Also speak to a
freindly dealer and ask to look through the microfiche. The same forks on
yer bike have probably been used in other models of yamaha's that you can
    hunt for at wreckers.

    Cheers

  7. Best thing you should do is write it off and get something that (a)
    accelerates and (b) stops ...

Had to ride a well-maintained SR a couple of months ago on a 200+k round
trip. Downright scary, although pleasantly economical. The biggest boost
to acceleration was provided by slip-streaming passing trucks and vans. I
could almost stand on the rear brake before it would lock. Riding it was
like revisiting a high-school physics lesson.

Sorry, probably not quite the advice you're looking for.

Actually after a further conversation with my motorcycle repairer.

I need only a Yamaha SR 250 speedo, then I'll be back in business.

Thanks for all your help guys. I'll go chasing it up now.

    Cheers

  9. How does the repairer go from needing new fork to just needing a speedo?

Charmayne is a troll, not a real person.
Don't let that innocent persona fool you.
His fake pink bike pics destroyed any credibility.

You know when you go fishing for Barracuda and you don't catch anything so you
just take some whitebait home. It's kind of like that.

Nope we can smell bullshit a mile away.

To gain cred and since your pics were BADLY faked you were found out.

Why would you be writing this if you didn't fake them?
This implies that you are guilty of faking them.

If one person could ring the repairer Oak Flats Motorcycles on 0242 563391.

Just ask if they have a pink Yamaha there. Also ask if the owner is
    Charmayne.

How much easier can it get ?

I would then like an apology for all the crap you are puting me through.

    Anyone can be worded up.
Try posting a picture of yourself and the bike together without a green
bike with pink forks in the background.
Explain why you are posting from an ihug account yet claim you are a
    bigpond subscriber?
Your stories are so full of holes you have made yourself unbelievable.
Face it you don't have any credibility in here anymore since the pink
bike and the other bikes with pink bits became a laughing stock.
It's up to you to prove who you are, not up to us to check by phoning a
    friend of yours.

    This is incredible.

I have met 2 people from this newsgroup in person.

1 of which picked up my pink bike and took it to the repairers. Praise be to
    him. Thank you very muchly.

I gotta admit though, you guys sure make me laugh.

And I'm sorely in need of a laugh.

Oh and by the way, I faked the gravel too.

    Just kidding.

Ihug vs BigPond. (I work for the latter) not that thats anyone's business.

Have you ever thought about becoming a private detective ?
