    A possibility there. The annoying thing is that I have an XL500 that I
    need to collect from Paisley but time to get it seems to be in short supply.

    You are obviously looking in dealerships rather than private sales, dealers
    always sell above a minimum floor price. Try ebay, gumtree, local newspapers
    and suchlike for an older hack.

    I wondered what was taking you so long. I'd forgotten you were over
    these parts this weekend.

    I think I've worked out a cycling route now. I was scouting it out this
    morning and they've basically dug out the whole width of the road to a
    couple of feet, but it looks like I can just cycle through the diggings.
    Just like the Belgian geriatric that was passing by at the time.
