Phoned my mate who bought my CBR. A bloke in his street has bought a
BMW C1. They got chatting. The bloke down the road said to Mark: "we
should go out for a ride together one weekend".

Mark - usually the king of cool, got all the patter - was speechless.

Now that *is* funny. Last weekend, I needed a surprsing abount of
effort to overtake one of those mega scooters[1] on my F650.

    [1] A yamaha one, I think.

Had a sit on a Yamaha T-max the other day.... oooh luxury, the owner was
telling me that is was surprisingly quick (500cc I think) must be quite
relaxing really being auto and it had loads of storage room.

So will these be the next big thing for the born again biker (self) ?

Bloke who lives upstairs from me is a courier of some kind and, when
not riding his ZZR11, tends to pootle about on a ratty NTV but for
the last few weeks he's been given a Honda Silverwing instead.

    One of the new ones.

Poor bugger's nearly died of shame.

f650... Is that one of those BMW thumpers?

How would you feel if the Siverwing was faster?

    F650 - 48 hp
    Silverwing -50 hp

  10. They are - I followed one once and had to do over 95 to get past him.

It seemed to wobble a bit, though.

I know a 78 year old who rides one. He has restricted movement in his
ankles. He looked for an automatic and settled on the T-Max. He comes from
Devil's Bridge near Aberystwyth and regularly gives power rangers a fright
    on the twisty Welsh roads.

He's a top bloke. Ex-army officer who used to race bikes for his regiment
    apparently.

    I can imagine...

    Hack-chew-woolly, I've seen a couple of C1s being ridden in a spirited
fashion, lately, including one bloke filtering like a proper twat on the
    A312...
