    I'm well chuffed...

Had a new boiler fitted this week by 'skilled engineers' who left the
usual wake of destruction. So today I've fitted a new mixer tap in the
kitchen and a new seat on the crapper...

And I've changed the oil and polished the bike...

    Just call me Captain DIY.

Nah, thats **** all, in the last two weeks i have completely refitted
the bathroom (bath, sink, crapper) the lot, and the downstairs loo
and sink, plumbing, decorating the lot....now that makes me the
    current Captain DIY.

How many of you does it take to change a light bulb?

    Pah, childs play.

I have just entered the final phase of the redecoration of my hallway.
    paper stripped
7 - 10ft door frames with upper windows (ornate mouldings) stripped of
10 layers of paint and varnish back to bare wood then teak oiled.
7 - doors stripped and painted,
    skirting stripped and oiled,
old plaster removed from 5 sq metres to a depth of 30mm and then
    replastered.
    walls and ceilings painted
200 year old pine floorboards removed and replaced with solid oak
floorboards (very nice to walk across), old ones were fecked.

And all of this because we didn't like the old skanky carpet.

    It beggars belief.

  8. I'll raise you:-

Replaced split hot water tank (this is what started it!) with a new
    larger one.
Ripped up the airing cupboard floor (sodden & wet) while I was at it and
    replaced it with new.
Ripped out the old bathroom suite (we were going to replace it), ripped
up the bathroom floor (sodden and wet) discovered a horror of DIY
plumbing. Pulled up floors in two other rooms to make sense of the
    plumbing.
Remove most of the plumbing and replaced with a new fully pumped and
valve controlled heating and hot water system. Put in new electronic
    control system.
Dig up the outside drains to locate the main pipe, replace the soil pipe
to enable a repositioning of the bathroom loo, plus whirlpool bath and
    pumped power-shower.

Plumbed in all hot and cold feeds plus wastes to bath, sink, loo and
shower, separate feeds to power shower pump. Replace floors with
weather-board ply not chipboard. Replace plasterboard walls with
    weather-board ply.

Wire all new systems to bathroom with separate contact breakers and a
RCB, fit 10 downlighters in ceiling.

Now waiting for a shed load of tiles to stick on the walls.

*Now* you know why I've been quiet on the NG for a few weeks.

  11. You will have to give me a moment or two but yes I should have a film
load some where. What sort of image/data size are you after?

  12. 1024x768 should do fine. I can then do thumbs for them. It's a sort of
    jumpers for goalposts theme...
