I have seen some ugly bikes but...

    What am I missing. I don't see any benefits of lengthening a swing arm.
    Maybe someone knows what it does. I have seen them like that on hillclimb
    bikes, but I'm thinking this isn't a hillclimb bike.

    I am not an expert, but I believe it would be for drag racing.

    It's a popular method used in drag racing to help aid in acceleration by
    keeping the weight forward, relatively. Instead of going up she'll go
    forward.

    It's also DA SHIZ if ya bustn wit cha homies down in Inglewood, AIGHT!

    I know what it does on my Z50, but it is only an inch longer than
    standard. Reduces tendency to wheelie all the time.

    Fourteen inches on a blade, probably the idea is to be able to spin up
    the back wheel...<shrug>

    Who says there has to be a benefit? There are some people getting very
    very rich building choppers etc which are customised for many reasons,
    none of which have anything to do with improving the motorcycle's
    ability to be ridden.
