    That's more wide than tall.

  2. Not to me, it doesn't. It looks too much like a Yamaha Tedium.

I've read that the difference between straight and gay is about 6 pints
(or was it four, IIRC Molly posted something along those lines)

What's the difference between gay and straight?

I like the V-Strom (although it is a bit underpowered) and the '07
    Tiger.

Neither are plenty of straight blokes. Thank God for drugs.

Bloke at work has one of those (GSX 750 F). Got it for £2,500 second
hand with 2k on the clock. Spotless. It seems okay. Haven't asked
to take it for a spin but I did have a sit on it when we were having a
conversation once in the car park (someone had managed to box my B6 in
so I had to ask GSX750F bloke to move his bike so I could get mine
    out)

Basically, a lot of bike for the money. Budget brakes and stuff but
    functional.

On a bike that inexpensive one might as well buy decent brakes and
    stick 'em on it.

  16. Now I know you didn't reply when I hinted it earlier but you *could* get a
955i for that money (but with 17000miles on the clock, or less than 3k a
year)............ With not many budget bits at all but brakes that do feel
a bit spongy even though they still work damn well......

By the time you've changed the brakes, changed the rear shock and had
someone with a clue try to improve the front end you might as well
have paid more for a better bike with a better resale value.

Have a look at how much new calipers, new master cylinder, braided
hoses, new discs and decent pads will cost you without any labour
costs and you'll probably agree it's not worth the effort. Either buy
a better bike from the start or buy budget and ride around any
    deficiencies.

They're all spongy on Triumphs until you change the master cylinder for
a 5/8 inch bore one, or fit a radial jobbie from a 2004 onwards R1 for
    125 quid new.

Well my T595 brakes were at least as good as the original R1 and that's
    Fucking Excellent

    Hog says...
Original R1 brakes maybe, but the 2004 model master cylinder is a Brembo
radial unit exactly the same as the Ducati 999 one. Fitting one to a
T595 or 955i elimnates the spongy feeling you get at the lever, which is
always there no matter how well bled the brakes are.
