Well, I've also not bothered doing the 2 hour job that needs doing. But
as I'm going back on call in a few weeks it's the sort of thing I'll do
when I have to stay at home one weekend.

You're not the only one. I've still got 1.5inch chicken strips 2
weeks after getting new tyres fitted.

My chicken strips are smaller than Ben's. I rock.

(look, let me have my moment, it's been a long week)

Nah, done that. I was distressingly lucky in that it all went slideways
at low speed, but stayed upright, came back in line and I carried on my
    merry way.

I think some sort of comedy wheelie/front wheel falling out type thing
    might be on the agenda.

You give good hiccup cures. But there's just something about the WUN
version that has a speed that you and I could never manage.

I came trouser-wettingly close to that on a run with the Pixies. Passed
a car on the entry to a corner. As I was level with the car Elly, who
was in front, started to brake, hard. I decided to finish the overtake,
then realised that I didn't have nearly enough room to brake and go into
the corner, a ninety degree right, at a comfortable speed. Target
fixating like a bugger, I almost had to take my hands of the bars and
move my head to look at the corner.

Threw the bike at the corner and just got round it, skipping slightly on
the dirt at the edge of the road. And Breathe. Then notice that there is
another corner right in front of me, ninety degree left. Only just
managed to get round that one.
There was no fence on the road, but there was about a 1 metre drop from
the road to the nicely ploughed field. I'm glad I managed to avoid
    inspecting in any more closely.

There are some fucking good roads around here :) Best to treat a lot
