"Can you give me a lift to sort out the damage on my bike"?

"No problem" sez me, can you get it here?

    "Probably".

So what was wrong? He'd dropped the bike (CB1000F) after cleaning it post
bimble and in doing so he'd snapped the brake lever. The Honda lever has a
section half way along that's been machined out to roughly 2/3rds the normal
thickness of the lever, obviously to make sure it breaks there instead of
fucking up the pivot area or the perch which is exactly what happened. He
pulled into the garage and handed me the lever, then began the ritual of
removing gloves, jacket, lid etc while I walked to the tool boxes.

One 10mm blind nut off (4 or 5 seconds) and one screw to remove (the lever
pivot) took about 10 seconds. Old lever out, new lever in, pivot screw back
in and tightened [1] blind nut back on before Chummy had even removed his
helmet and come back into the garage.

We were having a natter and I suggested a cuppa at which point Chummy said
"Let's get this job sorted first" so I said "Good idea" and walked into the
house. He followed me in and I put the kettle on and got a couple of cups
out and he said "I thought we were doing the lever before having the brew"
at which point I handed him his broken one and said "Indeed".

His face was a fucking picture.

[1] I didn't check the manual for the correct torque setting, how naughty of
    me.

    Old memes never die.

My first thought was "Poor old Champ isn't having much luck lately".

    I apologise to him.
