    The spokes I ordered for the XT from CWC turned up today. Just been out to
    the shed to replace the broken one only to discover that the ones they've
    sent me are exactly the same length as the broken portion of the pattern I
    sent them. I even included the old nipple complete with the half inch of
    seized broken spoke still in it ffs. They returned the pattern with the new
    ones, complete with the old nipple taped onto the end so it clearly looked
    longer than the replacements.

    I despair, I really do.

    Why didn't you take a good spoke off the bike and ask them to duplicate it?
    Bit silly giving them something that's broken and saying "Can I have another
    one of these please".

    Beacuse I had the broken one out at the time and didn't want to remove a
    perfectly good spoke for no particular reason and when I rang them they said
    the broken one would be fine as a template. They had the complete spoke just
    in two parts and I didn't ask for another one of them, I asked for a
    replacment the same as the original would have been.

    It's not a problem now, I rang them and they were very helpful, accepted
    that they messed up and will be sending out replacements FOC.
