I DON"T GET IT....(IT?)

    I don't get it.??????????????

These moto.groups are in the process of yet another 'flame war of
    accusations, name calling & threats''.
tx.moto has once again doubled it's ''post/responses''. In a short time,
    it's grown from 450 to better than a 1000.

<What puzzles me>, is, the computer posters in here will have these
heated discussions with folks they publicly admit to detest. The same
folks deny me, a normal, regular DG contributor, the
opportunity to be heard (read), simply because I'm a Webtv user. &
quickly become offensive, because of not being a computer user, then
consequently be thrown in a PC Kill File.

But, yet, post after post, they'll participate in a ''DG Flame War of
words", with folks they claim 'not to like', but won't put them in a
    killFile.

A real good example is this fellow called Gary L, Burnmore, or something
    like that.
Once I responded to his crap, and I was informed of his reputation, a
child molester, or something like that . I was advised to ignore him.
I do ignore him, but some of ya'll are responding to his crap, and
evidently, he is not in yall's ''kill files''! --But yet, a WTV'er is
automatically put in, (what ya'll like to call), ''bozo file''..(clonk)
    etc.

I remember what some have claimed, that WTV is atrocious, when it comes
to being interpreted by a PC News Reader deal.
But, That's not the case with all PC folks.
I get responses from several, who say, they don't particularly have a
    problem,

I communicate with a few friendlies, who don't comlplain.

I get responses from folks like, Beemer Biker, Albert Nurick, Jailcall,
fullstate, wakko, Tim Morrow, Mr. Homa, Iceman, Bill Walker, Bill Fright
(at times), Texdays, Another Viewer, Iggy, Calgary (couple of
times),Brian Walker (occasionally) & maybe a few others.
(Just thought of something, I don't get responses from a fellow
Webtv'er, moto, hmmm, how odd. (Oh well)....)

I post responses that I know are decent and civil. I post topics, that
    I know are
intelligible, maybe not fancy, but worthy of a comment, negative or
positive, it shouldn't matter. I have posted a couple of Bike Trip
reports, recently. I got very few responses. I read everyones Bike Trip
Report and make a point to comment.

I make it a point to comment on any Bike related subject. That's called
being a contributor. It shouldnt matter, If I agree, or disagree.
That's referred to as offering opinions, and/or another point of view,
of which usually leads to discussions.

So, I guess my main point is: Some don't really want to discuss simple
every day subjects for much of a time period.. I think it becomes
boring, and it's time for a good ole ''Flame War''.

If nothing else, some of you folks in here, need more diversity in your
    name calling techiques.

  2. there are some people who are always at the center of controversy.
when it's the same person repeatedly in multiple different controversies
with many different people, you just have to take it at face value and
figure that person causes problems for whatever reasons.

as for the web tv thing, most newsreaders do a standardized formatting
for responses in a thread that includes poster id and layered quotes.
that's why top posting is frowned upon, because the thread will
autmatically read properly when bottom posted. that has to be done
manually on web-tv and even then it's not quite the same. BJ, you make
a really good effort to make your posts legible. i think if you read
thru a good newsreader you would see the differences which may appear
subtle at first but again: good newsreaders automatically provide a
consistent format of quoting, author attribution and message id numbers.
most people know that format well and can read things very quickly.
consequently, when something formatted different shows up, some folks
will just blow by the non-conforming post because they don't want to
take the time to figure it out. there is also a tendency for people to
blow off real "cutesy" posts where the author is trying to be cool with
phrasing and spelling. again, lots of people don't want to spend their
time decoding the post and will spike the message and messenger who does
    that repeatedly.

i recognize your efforts to make tx.moto a reasonable place even as your
most recent original post about speeding tickets was turned into a
flamefest. unfortunately there are one or two individuals who are
repeatedly caustic to many other people and the flame wars are the
    result. oh well.

Unfortunately for you, you are paying the price for a few webtver's
who have preceeded you, at least in Reeky. One of them made and still
makes no attempt to quote, nor does he respond to the correct post and
has in my opinion been generally disruptive. Many tried to avoid the
inevitable flame war by filtering out his email address. After a
while he learned he could change his email address and circumvent the
filters. Again he was disruptive and the only way to filter him out
completely was to filter out "webtv". That eliminates his posts and
also all others with a webtv email address.

So first off a large contingent who regularly post in Reeky do not
    even see your posts.

Other than that you have to realize not all who hang out there share
the same interests. It is a very diverse group. There are sport
riders, cruisers, guys and girls who race, many of them are MSF
instructors and of course there are the posers and shit disturbers.

Considering the topics you have either initiated or responded to I
think you have been received very cordially, for Reeky. One word of
advice, I wouldn't be posting there begging for attention. That might
    not be received very well.

So as you stated once a while ago you are going to continue to post
and I wouldn't discourage that. Your writing style is unique and your
attempts to post properly and quote, while using the limited
technology available to you is appreciated.

    Just my $.02 (Canadian)

Well AV, thanks for your comments.
I'm finding out one positive thing in this post, that a few of you guys,
    try to correspond.

The ''cutesy'ism'' seems to be fairly common at times, from the soCalled
    regulars, I've noticed.

I do make an effort, to make my stuff as clear as possible, I try to
identify who said what, (called quotes)

What is almost comical, is not receiving responses from a few, whom I
know are in here right this moment, typing like mad, with their flaming
hands, and can't seem to settle down and type a decent reply to my
post/topic. I'm referring to a few who I know don't have me in their
    Bozo File.

It isn't fair you and other WebTv'ers have to pay for the actions of
another, but it is the fact. The one who caused the problem in the
first place, at one time was posting 400 and 500 messages a day. The
sheer volume overwhelmed the other posts. The only way to clean up
the group was to filter the word "webtv"

Don't take it as a slight against you.

For the record, that poster has just recently become active again,
jumping on the Walker bandwagon, and I too may be beefing up my
filters to get rid of him and a few others, and unfortunately it might
filter out your stuff too. Once again it is not a slight against you,
but something required so I can enjoy the rest of the group.

Chee Wah Wah.. I like that one every time you use it Bjay.. Communicating on
usenet isn't limited to webTV or any other medium.. What the hell difference
does it make what you are using to get there.. LOL.. What you got to say is
what's important .. Keep on keeping on..

Don Binns.. John Moran, Mark Johnson and a few of their buddies have
terrorized and tried to embarrass anyone on reeky, who they didn't like, for
whatever reason.. The main reason, as Don Binns just pointed out is the
poster may be civil or courteous to Bill or Brian Walker..I've never
encouraged anyone to engage in their flame wars or be involved in all that
"fun" they claim to have at someone else's expense.. Matter of fact.. I've
    discouraged it..

Each one of these clowns has reason to dislike me, after all.. I've exposed
each one as some kind of hypocrit and/or phony.. Some of this crew are so
stupid they've exposed themselves with their own comments and declarations..
later denying it of course.. Most of them like Johnson, Moran and/or Binns
activated the "No Archive" screen and then challenged someone to "Go
Google".. or prove they said it.. <chuckle> Johnson was recently challenged
for that reason, on tx.motorcycles, if you recall..

Knowing you personally, and the reason for your participating in any
newsgroup.. I'll still caution you to stay out of these silly flamewars..
    Regards to miz Honey..

It has been tried but he continued to morph his email address. The
only thing he couldn't change was "webtv" so that became the word to
    be filtered.

I have tried an alternate to webtv to cleanse the newsgroup of him.
    We'll see how it works.

Once again Bill you are posting lies. I have never done the No

If anyone wants proof, google the email address I use here. You will
see every one of my posts. Sadly lacking though is the one Bill keeps
claiming I made. More Walker lies.

This latest lie is just another attempt by you to back pedal out of

This is getting funny. You are hiding behind a distance you have
claimed is no big deal to a grizzled veteran of the mean streets like
you and now on top of that you are claiming to be too old and not
capable. What else are you not capable of doing Bill?

You know when you have to start making excuses it means you have
    failed at something.

Nah.. keep the record straight.. Not even a top hand is "dragging" me
anywhere.. much less a puppy like you.. now.. what?
to the topic at hand which is
Bubba you better lay off whatever that is you are smoking, snortin' or
shootin'.. You have commenced to hallucinate, again.. Not even those little
buddies of yours can imagine me running away from an anemic asshole like
    you.. LOL..
hmmm.. now let's see .. pimples.. I must have missed all this buryin' that
you are talking about.. Can you remember what that is all about.. or do you
need some time to Google it..
One statement that keeps haunting you is the one where I told you I'd whip
your pimple faced ass all over Texas if you and your couple of un-named
buddies showed up at my house..

Looks kinda funny to see that grizzled
Same address for the best part of twenty years, sport.. If you call that
"tripping over myself .. running away" you just never been to a real
    rodea..huh ?

Is that a warm fluid you feel dripping down your pant leg?

Hmmm... hadn't noticed anything like that, but like I mentioned.. I'm close
to the laundry room, just in case.. Damn son.. you just ain't got no mercy
on old folks .. do you ? sheesh.. I sure am glad we've got the whole United
States between us.. I suspect that if we ever faced up, I'd just keel over
from laughing so hard.. Somebody told me recently that must be what keeps
me so young looking and fit.. I laugh so hard.. hmmm may be right..
