Twas in the local paper earlier in the week.

Liked the bit about them not being able to park the camera vans ssafely -
never seemed to bother them before, up verges, completely blocking pavements
    etc.

ps When is the next local NABD meet please.

Northants. Ah yes, they just had a three car pile up with a pregnant
    woman dying didn't they?

Obviously the speed camera bike is working well then.

Gotta love that kind of reporting.

"The idea is to respond quickly and can be called out to speeding
    blackspots by local residents." - So it's a high-speed anti-speed
    device?

Also, the bit about the school-runner is a laugh. On my commute I find
that the vast majority of school run 4x4s slow down to below 30mph for
the NSL twisty bit, then speed up to 45mph+ in the 30 zone.

But will someone try to blame the police like they have down here, a
woman accused them of letting her son die, him and two of his mates
stole a cage, had a solid object interface.

solid object won 2.5 to 0.5[1]

I feel sorry for the car owner.

[1] remaining 0.5 is in intensive with mechanically assisted breathing

    Nothing planned soon.
But it will probably be 'a Sunday lunchtime at a pub near you'

christofire was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:

Blimey, the faint bell is broken.

Anyway, everyone knows that the Highway Code is temporarily suspended
while you're ferrying your kids to school. Well, that's about the only
explanation I have for the stupid behaviour I see every morning. Three
schools on one commute is definitely a few too many.

There's a driver of a LandCruiser near me that slows down to about
1mph to go over the speed bumps. FFS, they shouldn't even register
through the suspension on a thing that size.

    I don't do the "school run"[1], but I can demonstrate "above 30mph"
speeds on NSL twisties in a 4x4 if you like...

It all seems so hypocritical to me - everyone must drive slowly while
little johnny's playing out so he doesn't get harmed. But I can drive
him to school like a loon, and once he's inside I can go faster[1] cos
    he's safe.

[1] I've also noticed it gets hairier after the drop off time as said
parents rush to get to work.

It'd be a second for me to see that, I think. There was an instance of
when a freelander or similar didn't appreciate being overtaken by my
SOC, so it sped up a bit. Quite rightly so, IMO - if I got overtaken by
    me I'd feel ashamed.
    Good man.

    Love this quote:

"Chief Superintendant Stuart Kilpatrick of Northamptoshire Police
said, "We have safety camera vans which can't necessarily find a place
to park safely, causing an obstruction and possibly exasperate the
    problem. "

"...exasperate the problem", eh? I wonder if this was the copper's
    misatek, or the journo.

  15. Aww...I wanted to ring that.

And I wanted to add reps and twats in Novas who crawl all over your back in
30's and then aren't seen again after so much as two corners in an NSL.

Heh. I noticed that too. I assumed that, as the coppa was being
quoted, it must have been the journo.

Yeah, and all motorcyclists bite the heads off chickens.

I get a little weary with this constant bashing of cliched targets.
