I do, but to be brutally honest, it's better to get them powder coated,
remembering to remove any coating from where earth straps go.

Without wishing to do Beav out of any work, there's someone in our
part of the world that I'm very happy tp recommend, if it's more
    convenient.

    Should've gone to Specsavers :)

Anyway, I thought it might be a good idea to show just how bad a bike can
get (and they don't get much badder) yet are still "restoreable" to its
original state or better. Yours was the obvious choice as it was even worse
than the stuff I get off Timo.

    Errr thanks.

Hopefully the CB will run before Xmas, really not that far off putting
fluids in and giving it a go. Might post some more pics later this week
if I get chance to do some work on it.

Well it wan't you wot let it get to that state. Or was it? :)
I'd like to see the finished article and I got the impression it was close
to being ready from one or two of your more recent posts, so seeing a pic or
    two would be good.

Blimey, respect for you skills Beav.

I wouldn't have the patience to get past the sand it down stage, as the AT
testified too. Drill + wire brush bit followed by Halfrauds aerosols.

I just get arm ache. A bit like wankers cramp (apparently) without the fun
    bit.
It's Ok 'til the skin on your fingertips get tissue paper thin (or thinner
and bleeds). It soon gets old after that but then you realise you've only
got to sand the same part down another 5 or 6 times, so everything is fine:)

I'm thinking of what I want painted now :)

Old guitar that'd look great in starburst (still sound shit mind, but look
    good)

How many layers of paint total do you use for a very good job on a car?
    Metallic black.

I noticed a few months ago that whatever Mr Porsche uses must be fucking
thin, after only one go through the usual "whirly" type auto car wash there
were a dozen or so tiny white flecks on the bonnet where the black paint had
tiny chips knocked out of it.

Fucking pissed me off no end, it was perfect when I got it.

Oooh, do you do wheels? Stove baked enamels? Polished rims?

Porsche paint is well known for being a little on the softer side, but,
I hope you're not suggesting that the carwash knocked lumps out of the
paintwork. You'll have picked up those chips through normal wear and
    tear.

What you will have got from the carwash is swirls and/or a general
    dulling of the finish.

Use a Langka type kit to fill the chips, then get it pro detailed and
    fit a clearbra.
