Went to Fraser's today to discuss chopping in the Gixxer. He's clean
out, and no more 1000 K5 coming either.

The 1000 K6 has no launch date, but should be around in late October
November. So I'm going to be a patient man and wait 'till then.

Or should I have a Kawasaki?

Sheesh, have you actually had that bike for as long as 6 months even?

    ;-)

I've spent a happy afternoon playing with the suspension on mine and
using a crude mixture of PB settings, merkin magazine settings and a
little bit of guesswork it seems a lot better. It's stopped chattering
under heavy braking and the back end's stopped skipping about under
any provocation. If the bike had felt like this straight out of the
crate I'd have been a lot happier with Mr Kawasaki and his R&D team.

    £6995 for a pre-reg ZX10R is the best I've seen recently. You'll have
to look at paying at least 2 grand more for a K6. How many pairs of
    kids shoes does £2k buy?

    ZX10R suits you sir. I even had a look at the Z1000, but I think it's a
    DL1000 for me.

That's what I'm considering trying next.... that or the Tuono.

Anyone want to buy either a T reg R6 or a W reg ZX9R, both in pretty good
    nick?

stopit! You're filling my head with all these sugarplum thoughts. The
Tuono is out of my price range. It's nice though, a mate has one and it
    rocks.

That's that thing. I'd have to stump up for the K6, it's probably
worth it. I didn't think there would be such a difference between my
K4 and a K5, but it was the extra bit I'm always looking for. Brakes,
holding the line through the corner[1], traction out of the corner and
best of all the way it wheelies.

Now I hate to wheelies at the best of times, unless its the 100+
gentle crest that hovers nicely. When I rode Daz's I was having *fun*
on the throttle and on the bumps. And that was after about 50 yards!

I think it is worth the extra.

Oh and **** their shoes; what's wrong with Chinese bandages ;-)

[1] Particularly very slow corners. Fucking hate'm. Give me a v.fast
    any day.

    Oops...<Checks log book>. Hmm, 30th April.

Nearly 6 months! It's SWMBO fault for say, "I thought you were going
to spend more than that", when I bought the K4.

Also I thought I'd find it too cramped, but it's dead comfy.

I will now stop trying to justify my actions.

I found a brand new GSX-R1000 K4Z like yours the other day, unregistered
and I can have it for 6500 quid with a race can, double bubble screen
and genuine Suzuki crash bungs already fitted, with all original bits as
    well.

My Gixer K1 is now up for sale.

Same as me, don't like leaning far over at low speeds but have no
    problem doing it at 140+

    And yet you're considering a 10R....

    There's a shedload of difference between a Tuono and a V-Strom.

The V-Strom is nowhere *near* as focused as the Tuono - if you think you're
getting a Tuono with a V-Strom, reconsider now before you buy it.

Less grunty engine, less racebike-like suspension - loads more comfort :)

If you look hard I reckon you can get a K4 pre-reg for between £5200 and
£5500 if you were so inclined.

I have the one true colour K5 version :)

And I can point out that I was one of the first to have one now all you
    cnuts[1] are buying them.

[1] this may or may not include you Bee.

Why didn't you buy porl's old one then. IIRC, it went for under £5k.
