When we out ride someone, what have we done? Faster, longer, colder,
    hotter, ???

In your case fat boy.. you'd be ridin' beer joint to beer joint with maybe a
parts store mixed in.. The crowd you've got experience with has had some up
close and personal experience riding with me .. Ask 'em.. Meantime notice
that none of them have EVER got engaged in one of these discussions with me,
about any kind of "out ride" challenge.. But you just feel free to give it a
shot whenever you choose.. fatboy.. I'll be making some pretty good runs,
just a little later in the year..Give it a shot.. Can't do 'er in a boat,
    though.. LOL

Well what about in other cases, like yours for example. BTW maybe the
reason they don't bother to get into a discussion with you is hidden in
the friendly reply you gave me. You even changed the subject to
boats..whats up with that.. I guess someone could outboat another..

Well, it's raining. So you might get hypothermia.

Nothing like big names for "soaking wet"....

says it's 1713.4 miles, 26 hours 21 mins travel time.

@ 24 hours(estimated), and using the two county seats for the less
than detailed, departure & arrival points, looks like 71.39 mph
    average.(1713.4 / 24).

@ the 26 hours 21 minutes shown, looks like 65.02 mph is the
    average.(1713.4 / ((26 * 60) + 21) * 60)

I couldn't/wouldn't do it.... in an RV. <g>

    Thanks,

I don't coffee up until I burn a tank of gas, I like to leave real early and
have about two hours down before the sun comes up, then gas, coffee and I'm
ready for the day with some miles behind me.

    books on tape?!?!?!

I'd run off the road trying to concentrate too hard!
The trick to me is not to stop for any real time. I don't get off the bike
when I gas up (unless someone is along for the ride and wants to smoke or
something...no smoking on the bike is the rule!). I generally won't even
unzip my jacket. The only thing I'll do is take off my gloves just to handle
the key and gas pump. I also stop where I would normally be sitting at a
redlight anyway. This means that if I'm in a town and only have 75 miles on
my tank and there's a bunch of lights, I will make my stop there instead of
on the highway where I can gain my time.

There are instances also where when I'm changing highways and see a gas
    stop, I'll make it there.

Other than that, it's just the same things with me....reduce fatigue and
    have plenty of tunes!

Coffee? No chance. The caffeine will cause you to crash (your body...not the
bike) hard when it wears down. It seems like a nice picker upper, but the
long term on a ride will hurt rather than help.

"HEATED CHAPS"? Man, I have to ask....what part is heated?

whoosh.. If you've been through Monterrey in the past fifteen years and
didn't get lost, you've got a built in guidance system.. LOL..

Waco wants to make the Tropic of Cancer monument between Saltillo and
Zacatecas.. Then .. if he has the time, I'd like to make that run down to
Guadalajara through those beautiful mountains.. Whew .. what a run for a
biker who likes twisties.. Then .. provided everyone has the time, on up
north to Sinaloa and the beaches.. Hermosillo, Durango and Torreon back to
Texas, again.. All told and about one weeks time to do it..

That is . if you wanna enjoy the run and see the country..Make some
arrangements and come along, Bill.. you are sure welcome..

I'm not goin' to be in any hurry to maintain any pace.

The trick is to not let it wear out. I can get a couple hundred more miles
in with a little help from my friends (at Starbucks).

    Not the parts that count.
