  1. No wonder you rub so many of us up the wrong way.

I must have spent an hour the last week looking at a Breva ST on the Guzzi
website. I even went past Mario's and sat on one.

    Hmmmmmm!

Not half bad those... although I must confess I like the new Cali
Classic (which isn't in Oz yet).

To all who have tried to be helpful, thanks, I originally posted this
message about my problem, hoping someone had been there done that.

I have had the bike checked out and there were no problems with it.

So as most of you pointed out it may have been a combination of road surface
and low tyre pressure, time will tell I guess.

As for those individuals who suggested advanced training school, well I will
bet not be many here have held their bike licence as long as I have, nor
    have the riding experience.

Try this for size, general riding in Oz (4 states), riding in both the North
Island and South Island of NZ, riding in USA, riding in Bermuda, riding in
UK, riding from London to Rome over the Symplon Pass, and finally riding
    from London to Calcutta.

As for using the front brake, yes I do use it, but not on bends.

And yes, I can come off, and at least I admit it.

Lots of people have been riding for a long time

    Doesn't make them competent though

    Go and do a course

<SNIP stuff about how good he rides>

Look... it doesn't matter how good one rides, anyone can benifit from a
training school... it's as simple as that.

Mate, I had been riding 17 years and thought I was alright at it.

I then went to Instructor school and found out how shit I was

As I said, time doesn't mean anything

and yes I think going through that process 8 years ago puts me in a better
    situation than you to judge

  12. I went through the same process near on twenty years ago (tho' not after 17
years riding!). The most improved winner was the oldest bloke with the most
    experience.
....followed by ones who thought they were good.

Yeah Pete but the reality is that lots of us don't realise how shit we
    actually are at doing this

Doing something like that, or any course for that matter is a real eye
    opener.

It's a good eye opener for those who come back and do refresher courses

    ck

.......and nowhere in this thread has the twonk ever mentioned that _he_ may
have had something to do with crashing.......................

No, last time about 5 years ago from a rear tyre blow out, and prior
to that probably 25 years ago when I had two speeds.

My point is that I concur with CK's comments that years on the road
means sweet **** all. I've seen a few riders (and more so car drivers)
who have had years of experience but they are stil shit riders (and
drivers). I've done a few training sessions over the years and I have
found them useful in getting rid of bad habits, and fine tuning riding
    skills.

The other pont is that you seem to be avoiding the issue that it might
    have been your fault.

    cheers, Bill
