Ahh thanks, I was going to ask and you've pre-empted it - I'll be
needing new tyres when I get back from the Oxley, I've been fairly
partial to the Pilot Sports and was going to ask whether the Powers were
    any good.

    Problem solved.

Oops, just re-read and realised you meant Pilot Power Race were the
bestest - I thought they were the track day ones that weren't meant for
    the real world ?

I want the stickiest ones for real world riding I can get, as long as I
get 4000K out of them I'll be happy

    JL
(what's on it looks like it will get about 8000 rear and 10,000 front
I'm guessing but I forget what it's got on it !)

Please publish your table of results listing head bearing torque vs rear
    tyre pressure.

Have you tried retorqueing the head bearings?

Maybe he just needs to get a Guzzi. Then he can live happily with the foot
    brake only.

  7. I don't know. When you get ethics approval to test it, I'll be happily
    involved!

  8. Do you want the ones of the sports tourers or just the sports bikes?

Certainly, include them too. And the Chookies, don't forget the chookies.

  12. Does that include the Superetards as well?

I may need to look at effect of shaft vs chain on touring bikes.

You're being Supere tardy in supplying the result you claim to have of
extensive testing to verify your claim about the head bearing torque Hammo.
Maybe it was just all torque and hot air under pressure in your (steering)
    head.

  14. No, not at all. They were my findings and I am happy with them. I didn't
realise you held my opinions in such high regard and I thank you for
interest. I will do my best to find the chook scratching that are my notes
on that subject and post them to you. Please, don't hold your breath as
they will be amongst the Wollongong stuff and that is being sorted.

In the interim, the torque on the steering head has had more influence on
any wallowing on any bikes that I have owned. Some people like to have it
torqued super tight (as they claim it negates the need for a damper). YMMV.

I set mine for zero torque. I suspect you torque too much.

  16. Yes, I'm sure you do. Must be a bugger to calibrate.

  19. BZZZZTTTT...wrong.

the rear brake can be used for fine adjustments of attitude while
    cornering at high speed

to say that you don't use the rear brake only for stopping is correct
