    Hi all,

newbie here, was thinking it might be nice to start out with a new bike and
the hyosung aquila looks like a pretty good deal, but I want to hear what
    opinions other people have.

The Aquila is a decently made bike for $6669 (RRP) - it's not an accident
that as soon as the Hyosung was released, Yamaha re-released the Virago
    (250) at exactly the same RRP of $5999. Yamaha had withdrawn the Virago two
years earlier in favour of the XVS250 which had an RRP of $8199.

Based on this, the Virago is probably the better buy of the two. It's
slightly cheaper and is the Aquila's equal (or better) in terms of features
and engineering. Also Yamaha is a better known brand so you will have an
easier time selling after a year or two.

The Hyosung Comet 250 is a better bike at a better price than the Aquila,
and is worth a look as well.

    My $0.02

What is this, end of year exams?

There have been reviews of the Hyosung stuff in AMCN, etc,
over the last couple of years. They've been mostly positive.

I'd probably buy a ratty old Honda. Well, another ratty
old Honda. Maybe a couple more.

  7. These are just Suzuki clones of sorts, check out the build quality etc and it
    is all A1

For mine i would rather test it to see if it suits you and your pocket
    regardless where it was made

S/Korean's quality is excellant, just more of them need to learn English.but
that is not your problem, mine, i deal with them (Korean's not Hyosung)
