I thought this was an Australia Vs New Zealand thread? Why are you
    picking on the Brazilians now?

Peter Stevens is currently selling new SV650SK's for $8990..
I know that's the faired model and I don't know if they are
doing anything similar for unfaired models but, even so, I know
if I was deciding between the two I'd go the SV.

Now, if the Comet was a grand cheaper again and they fixed their
(what I hear are) dodgy brakes in the wet...

Should mention here, early in the 1980's a man who had bought a large
air compressor from our warehouse, got talking to me, realising I was
the owner of the business, and said he was designing and building up
a motorcycle that he hoped would beat the NZ land speed record,
and he said if that was successful, he'd then have a try at the world
record. (for motorcycles) He said things were well on track, but
he did need investors, and would I like to put $10,000 in. I looked
at him wondering whether he was serious or a nutcase, and refused
to invest. That was one of my very worst ever mistakes.

What if One of the Asian motorcycle manufacturers bought the britten
company for the brand? Might be a good start with such a well known
name. Don't know if it's for sale though.

They were in a motor accident just before I was due to be born.
The culprit was a drunk driver. (in Brisbane)
Their mistake was to ride in the back of a relative's car that day.

For many reasons. If I had become involved there
would have been less financial issues and more
attention to a business in something dear to me.
    (motorcycling) Unfortunately I continued with
my other path. If I was involved with that company
now, it would be manufacturing motorcycles on
a very large scale, probably with help from an
    Asian manufacturer. Hindsight huh.

What would you have brought to the company that would have achieved
manufacturing on a very large scale, with or without the help of am Asian
    manufacturer?

Not doubting, mind you, just curious.

Bring not brought. I'm talking about *now*.
    Ideas mainly, such as:
More emphasis on production now and less on racing.
The brand is so well established there should be
plenty of interest from large scale manufacturers.
I'm surprised it's not already happened. I believe
NOW is the right time, but of course I'm not
involved in that company so what I think is of
    no consequence.

Grinnn...out of context. That's only part of the sentence
but it's the part you noticed, which of course applies precisely to
    yourself Paul.
