    Thanks to everyone for suggestions,
    we will now adjourn to the garage for some serious tea drinking
    and think about how to fix it during the wet season.

    Dave ......
    Some of those older Yammies (Radian in particular) had some crap cables,
    and housings. The housings were te biggest. Replace with the newer
    'lined' housing and cable, and you've got a 50% lighter pull.
