It's worlds apart. This is the same as an advert that pops up on ITV between programmes. What you are describing is the same as a tradename cropping up in a discussion on the BBC. It would be 'OK' if he was a regular poster, that he posted for reasons other than to promote his product and restricted himself to advice when asked, and at other times a link in his .sig. Yes he would, for behaving like that. No regular would do that anyway, because they know the rules - and so do you, you're only out for an argument. You will lose because you are wrong.
