Disagree, you're talking about 2 hours a day when two people's core
hours don't overlap... for those times e-mail or voicemail would plug
    the gap.

First thing in the morning the early worker actions the requests from
the day before, by the time the requester is in they're probably done.

42MPG , with <200 miles on the clock. I'm expecting good things.

  6. Sounds good. The Tuddy was doing about 38-40mpg at that mileage.

Mine's got this funky sport button thing, which seems to move the
powerband down the rev range (I suspect it increases boost pressure)..
with it in it's nippier than the 2.2 petrol was from as low as 2k.. with
it out it's still not sluggish, but the engine is slightly less eager
(and actually more usable as it's not so snatchy, if that makes sense)..
does wonders for the MPG too.

Still getting used to it, but I reckon they've built a corker of an
    engine.

  8. Pretty much; yes. Takes about 10k or so to properly settle down and then
it's a long plateau of fairly predictable behaviour.

    Ah! ISWYM.

I think I'm also getting shin splints, which I left out of the
propaganda post above. Back on the tube for me until they calm down :(

    One of my favourite jokes:

Q: How do you get 6 Englishmen in a Mini?
A: Promote one, and the other 5 will crawl up his arse.

Ged ! If the Clio got as little as the XJR I would be pissed off.
Big bikes *do not* have the ecomomy of a small car.

I was using a department where that kind of thing would be workable,
rather than mandatory, as an example. Like anything there's no "one
size fits all", and there never should be.

In the example of a billing problem I don't think it's unreasonable to
assume someone there at the time would handle it.
Electronic calendaring makes that easy to resolve... most businesses
    have that nowadays, don't they?
At a matter of course I reschedule meetings at the begining of the day
wherever possible, they're a crazy idea as they don't leave time to cope
with overnight escalations. Maybe my environment is somewhat different
to a lot of people's though.
I'm used to "someone" in the office 24/7 and 8 - 6 as core hours where a
large percentage of people are in the office. Personally I don't see a
problem, you ring someone and if there's no answer try one of their
    colleagues, or call back later.

Some do. I average about 45mpg on the gixxer, which I feel would be
pretty acceptable for most small cars.
