Took it for a quick spin round the estate, i know the brakes are a bit
cruddy, but they *need* to be uprated, i hear there is a way of fitting
    better calipers etc.

Any ideas before i get the spanners out?

BTW, the **** that designed the battery tray arrangement wants slicing right
down the fucking foreskin with a rusty scalpel.

Dang nabbit, I was too slow. I was going to have a pool on which part of
the bike you'd be asking about to improve first.

Not too late to open a book on when you'll sell it though. 3rd June is
    my bet.

Nissin 6 pot calipers from a ZX7RR are the best you can get. I'd
recommend a change of master cylinder to a Brembo from a 2004 onwards
    R1 or ZX10R radial type.

Failing that any Tokico 4 pots from a GSXR with the correct bolt hole
spacing[1] or Nissins from a Bandit 1200 or Triumph if they are the
    same bolt hole spacing.

The biggest problem with those 6 pots are they seize and the lever is
always spongy even after rebuilding the calipers. The generic Nissin
master cylinders are shite, so if you can change it then do so.

2004/2005 ZX10R master cylinders aren't radial ones but if Nige wants
the stock one I've got one minus the fluid reservoir sitting in the
garage that can be had for a sensible price.

I'm pretty sure the early ZX10R master cylinder is the same as what he
already has fitted to the ZX12R - Generic Nissin type as used on
Gixers, ZXs of a multitude of varieties and numerous other bikes that
use all sorts of calipers. The only calipers they work well with are
the old style Tokico 4 pots used on ZZR1100s and early ZXR750s.

They work pretty well with the calipers fitted standard to the 10R once
you've got any air out of the system.

Let me make sure I can find it. It'll come with the lever so how about
the price of a new lever + a tenner?

If I were you I'd buy a Brembo radial master cyliner ad keep changing
it from bike to bike but I'm sure I've said that before and you didn't
    bother.

    agreed.

Did you noticed there was a bit missing? In the manual it talks about
removing a battery top cover - there wasn't one on it.

I just got the tools out & started taking bits off :)

It's a very clever design that bike, but the battery is a total rectum
    stretcher

I have raised the backend by 22mm too, to get a bit more turn in.

It has cleaned up a treat too...
